When Olivia Ward shed 129 pounds this past May to win the 11th season of The Biggest Loser, her body, and her fridge, got a makeover.

“I ate a lot of processed stuff before the show,” she admitted, “so my fridge was pretty empty except for take-out boxes.”

Now, the svelte, perky opera singer stocks her Astoria refrigerator (which she shares with her husband and sister) with healthy, whole foods.

She’ll need the nutritious grub as she gears up for the fall audition season, when she’ll be trying out for roles that were out for her reach before her transformation.

That’s a lot of eggs!
Ha! Yes, it is. I eat egg whites every day, sometimes twice a day. My omelet usually consists of four whites. My sister Norah and husband Ben also eat whites almost daily, so we go through a lot. I know you can buy the whites in the carton, but I swear they don’t taste the same.

Those are Trader Joe’s Apple Cranberry Mini Fiber Muffins! I love them—80 calories and a TON of fiber. They keep me full and keep things—ahem—moving.

Wholly guacamole? Pretty cute. Please explain.
Oh, Wholly Guacamole how I love thee! This is a small company out of Texas that’s putting out great all-natural guacamole. What I love the most is that they have 100-calorie packs. It’s already pre-portioned, so there’s no chance for overeating. Not to mention super-convenient when packing lunch or snacks on the go.

I don’t see a lot of veggies. Are they hiding?
Yes, I keep the veggies and fruit in the crisper drawers—lots of salad greens, plus asparagus, broccolini, and cauliflower are regulars in my fridge. I’m also in love with Pink Lady apples and D’Anjou pears these days.

Do you drink all of those types of milk?
That is the one thing we all don’t really agree on. Ben uses skim milk. I tend to use SoDelicious Coconut milk, and Norah uses mainly almond milk.

Olivia WardAs a fellow Astorian, I’m curious—do you eat out in the neighborhood? Any favorite places?
Yes, Bareburger is a favorite in my house—they have so many lean meat options that you can put on a salad or a whole wheat wrap—so yummy! We also like Juice for Life for smoothies. For coffee, I’m loving Queens Kickshaw. They have one of the best soy lattes I’ve ever had.

Beyond your fridge, what’s one significant thing that’s changed about your lifestyle since your incredible weight loss?
I love the inner athlete that has emerged. I never knew she was hiding in there, and I’m finding that she is a pretty cool chick! —Lisa Elaine Held

    This was so cute! I love looking in other people’s fridges. I guess I am nosy. :) We also have different types of milk in my fridge. And coconut milk coffee creamer!

    You and Hannah are such an inspiration to me. I have been attempting to get on the new show The Revolution and so far so good. Casting directors call every day for more info! But I don’t want to get my hopes up. Anyway, I just wanted to tell you thank you, for all that you share with us. And I am so proud of you all. What a wonderful life change you have made. I am just wondering how you were able to shed the emotional baggage like you all have done. I never seem to keep weight off. I need to know how the permanent change happens! I think anyone can lose weight if they put their mind to it, but how do we keep our emotional side in “the zone” forever and stop the bad self talk that ruins us?
