Brooklyn Bridge Boot Camp gets a new venue—your living room

Brooklyn Bridge BootcampBrooklyn Bridge Boot Camp uses that iconic bridge as its jungle gym. But with the launch of its first DVD this week, you can get your butt kicked by its kindly commander Ariane Hundt anywhere in the world.

And the Bridge will be there with you, since Hundt shot the DVD on location. Whereas most workout DVDs are shot in cliche locales like Hawaiian beaches or in Southwestern deserts, with cheesy accompanying music, Hundt shot hers where her workout was born, traffic surround sound and all.

“The DVD combines the best of both worlds,” Hundt says. “You can kick your own butt at home, and still get the amazing Manhattan skyline view.”

And Hundt’s workout co-stars are the real deal—Lisa, Christine, Jared, Patrick, and Ify are five regular Boot Campers who’ve seen great personal results on the New York City fitness program.

As for the workout, you can expect Hundt’s signature moves—squat jumps, lunges, pushups, and lots of resistance band work—all aimed at giving you a high-intensity total-body workout in 55 minutes.

Brooklyn Bridge Bootcamp DVDAs the team runs across the Bridge, the screen splits and demonstrates cardio moves you can do instead, just in case your apartment doesn’t include a track or treadmill (if it does, we hate you).

Will non-New Yorkers fall for the idea of the Brooklyn Bridge as an obstacle course?

It’s not just the location that’s appealing, says Hundt. “But also the highly effective moves that transform your body fast.” —Lisa Elaine Held

i write mostly about food but have written about yoga classes (for yogacitynyc) and other fitness classes on my blog. would love to review this!

I consider myself to have a bit of an exercise…problem… :) Not that I work out too much or unhealthily, I just love to try ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING! My reviews/conquests have included: SoulCycle, FlyWheel, Corefusion, P57, Barry’s Bootcamp and countless more. The one thing they all have in common however? They’re all in studio and I’ve never really touched a fitness DVD. Would love to see how a DVD can ‘bring it’ into my (tiny) Manhattan living room….

    What a great giveaway!
I’m a Pilates instructor and love to mix up my training. From stand up paddleboarding, P90X, Pilates classes and boxing. I have been working out at home and think this would be challenging and fun to give a whirl!

I’d love to review this DVD! I just completed the June session of Slim & Strong and have done the bridge workout a few times. Ariane’s classes are awesome and intense and I’d love to see what she has in store for us on the DVD.

  7. July 13th, 2011 at 10:38 am

As a health and fitness blogger, who has taken many of the Brooklyn Bridge Bootcamp classes in the past, I’d love the opportunity to see how Ariane’s new DVD holds up to her IRL classes. In terms of fitness levels, I definitely have no doubt that I can keep up with this DVD. I run several times a week, take several classes, bike every day and have my own daily fitness routine that I follow.

I’d relish the opportunity to get to give this new DVD a try. It would also be interesting to see how well this can be performed in my quite small living space. Let me know if I can help by providing a review.

I would love to review it. I’ve done a few brooklyn bridge bootcamp before and would be interested to see the difference between the actual workout and DVD. I work out 5-6 times a week with different combination of routines. Mainly I would like to see how this workout could help not just with fat loss, but muscle building in the long run.

I’m the perfect reviewer for this bootcamp because I am a Broklyn native who loves a good bootcamp! Hook me up! (Please)

I would like this task!! I have had to change my workouts up a bit and would like to try this at home and give you my opinion. Bring It On!!!!

I love doing DVDS and my reviews are often the top posts on my blog! I’ve never reviewed a bootcamp dvd, but I think that the idea of bootcamp dvds are great because they make this type of workout available to everyone. I am also curious to see how a bootcamp workout would translate to dvd since often they involve partner work.

  13. July 14th, 2011 at 9:31 am

This would be perfect for me to try out and I will tell you why! I’m going to Miami in 2 weeks and my Exercise TV on Demand channel on Time Warner just magically vanished and I can’t get myself up early enough to go to the gym! I really needed these last 2 weeks for last minute toning and I would love to see if this gets me in Miami ready shape. As anyone will tell you, if I like something I tell the whole world about it! Give me a shot to try thia out!

  14. July 14th, 2011 at 9:34 am

I would love to review, since I can definitely give you the point of view from someone who really does not work out and when I do I get easily bored. So I can give an unbiased review.

  15. July 14th, 2011 at 9:35 am

I love Ariane’s bootcamp and have taken her classes on the bridge and in a studio. I’ve definitely seen results with the BBBC and would be curious to see if the DVD version would be as effective.

  16. July 14th, 2011 at 9:43 am

I think I am perfect to review this dvd; my only exercise at this time is running, and I need something new cause…I am going to get married in just 6 weeks!!
Also, I will give my very honest ‘Dutch’ view on the dvd ;).

    Good luck to all!!

I’m the blogger behind everyfitgirl.com where I review new types of classes and training techniques to help those that might be gun shy and those that don’t want to waste their time on workouts not for them. I’ve taken Ariane’s class before and would love to see how her in person experience translates to the DVD.

  18. July 14th, 2011 at 9:46 am

As an avid runner, my biggest challenge is incorporating more cross-training into my routine. That being said, I’ve seen Brooklyn Bridge Boot Camp participants in action and I’ve always been intrigued–it looks like an awesome workout. I’m currently integrate Core Fusion into my regular workout routine but I’d love to try out a more high-intensity workout! Thanks for hosting such a great giveaway, W+G!

  19. July 14th, 2011 at 9:51 am

I’d love to review this DVD. I work full time and am in school getting my MBA at nights making it really difficult for me to follow a regular fitness schedule. As a result, I turn to videos that I can do at home, at whatever time works for me that particular week. I am very into fitness and do a lot of yoga, pilates, boxing. I’d love to try out a boot camp class and being able to do it from home would be awesome for me! Thanks!!

  20. July 14th, 2011 at 10:22 am

Please pick me! As a new mom of a 6 month old (and former fitness buff!), getting out of the house to the gym is the toughest task of the day now! I can only do so many jump roping and squats in my living room. Time for some kick a** motivation to lose the baby weight!!

  21. July 14th, 2011 at 11:01 am

I’ve taken the Brooklyn Boot Camp in person, so I’d love to compare to DVD (recent fitness DVD junkie — and boot camp class addict — I never stick to one, must try them all!)

  22. July 14th, 2011 at 11:09 am

I need a kick in the pants- preggo my 1st trime, inconsistent exercise and wanting to get in shape, PLUS we have our wedding in 7 weeks and I *need* to fit into my dress! I was getting in shape, drinking green shakes when I got preggo, and now it’s ground zero again, plus we’re moving houses, so going to a gym is going to be impossible; a home workout and what’s more, a bootcamp workout at home, will be PERFECT!

  23. July 14th, 2011 at 12:09 pm

I would LOVE to review this DVD! I am a fitness professional and model. I am addicted to bootcamps. I have been in at home workout DVD’s and love to try new ones in my living room all the time. I am also a pretty good descriptive and objective writer. Looking forward to hearing from you! Hoping to sweat it out soon.

  24. July 14th, 2011 at 12:21 pm

I am a Doctor of Physical Therapy, and a 10 year yoga and pilates instructor, as well as avid cyclist. I love working out, and use DVDs regularly. Would be happy to review for you!

I would love to have a chance to give feed back for this dvd!! I love to exercise in the outdoors, but in the summer due to the heat and minor health problems I’m unable to. I think this dvd is a great idea..you get bootcamp with an awesome view! Not only is the brooklyn bridge, my favorite bridge but you get the beautiful NY skyline. Thanks for the opportunity :)

  26. July 14th, 2011 at 8:26 pm

I have not been exercising lately, and I am looking for something new and exciting to try. I have done all types of workouts in the past, including yoga, pilates, Bar Method, weight training, cardio, personal training sessions, DVDs, aerobics classes, and more. I would love to try something different from what I have done in the past, and I am motivated to be as fit and healthy as I can going forward. I have done countless exercise DVDs (and videotapes), and would welcome the opportunity to try the Brooklyn Bridge Boot Camp!

  27. July 14th, 2011 at 8:53 pm

I live in Queens, NY, and I typically exercise indoors. I would love to exercise with a NYC skyline view to bring the outdoors in to the air-conditioned indoors. Furthermore, I am always looking for a challenge, so I would be a perfect fit to try the Brooklyn Bridge Boot Camp.

  28. July 14th, 2011 at 9:18 pm

I would love to review this. I am a self-confessed fitness fanatic and love trying new classes. I started my blog more as a way to start documenting and reviewing the classes I have taken. In the past I have reviewed live classes at Physique 57, the various Core Fusion classes, Flywheel Sports, Barry’s Bootcamp, yoga classes, amongst many others. I am hoping to start reviewing dvds next and think this will be an excellent one to start off with!

  29. July 14th, 2011 at 10:26 pm

I’d love to review the dvd; I’ve done ALL kinds of workouts and am still open to more

  30. July 15th, 2011 at 12:18 am

I have been waiting for this DVD to come out forever. I’ve done several of Ariane’s indoor and outdoor bootcamp classes for almost 2 years now. I’ve completely changed my diet and fitness levels around and was so surprised that I lived to tell the tale (I hate exercise and usually feel like I’ve been hit by a truck after her class), that I started a blog! It’s called The Skinny On Manhattan and it’s where I share how I eat, drink and exercise my way to fitness while still enjoying everything the city has to offer. A bit of a balancing act, to be sure, but so worth it. I’ve recently been working 14 hour days and it would be so great to have a DVD to make sure I can squeeze in a workout and don’t have to sacrifice my health for my job. I’d also love to see how the DVD measures up to Ariane’s class and if it could possibly be as challenging.

  31. July 15th, 2011 at 6:03 am

I would love to try this new bootcamp DVD. I am a relatively new beginner who follow mostly fitness magazines & websites for tips and exercise routines. I am looking for a more structured program that will give me results and keep me motivated when I work out at home.

  32. July 15th, 2011 at 9:07 am

What a great giveaway!! I have been using DVDs my entire life-sticking with my favorite Denise Austin’s collection, doing a mix of yoga & Pilates. I don’t like the gym at all- and I always love trying new workout routines. I get bored pretty easily so I try to mix it up by running outside. I was a fan of the Billy Blank’s tae-bo series and would love to try this high-intensity bootcamp dvd! Thanks!

  33. July 15th, 2011 at 1:01 pm

I wrote about Ariane and her program last Fall (both for her blog and for Social Workout)and would love the chance now to see how the DVD compare with her live classes. Plus, I have never been able to make it to more that a few classes a week due to my travel schedule and would love to be able to take the BBB with me when I am not in town!

  34. July 15th, 2011 at 1:35 pm

Would love to review this DVD because I do bootcamps indoors and outdoors and I’d like to see the difference not having a live instructor. I run, dance and pole, so I feel I can give an objective view on this DVD! And I’d love to have something I can use at home when going out to a class isn’t an option!
Thanks for such a great opportunity!

  35. July 15th, 2011 at 2:02 pm

You will see a big difference after doing these classes. Kicks your BUTT!

  36. July 15th, 2011 at 4:04 pm

I would love to review this DVD. I’ve been an avid Gym-goer, attended Ariana’s bootcamp class in person, been to boxing camp, dance class, etc.

I’d love use this dvd during the mornings before work and for weekends.

  37. July 16th, 2011 at 3:32 pm

I have been a fitness professional since before Jane Fonda made it popular..yes I’m 54 but I do not look it :)..thanks to movement!

I have taught ski fitness, dance (now Zumba, modified of course to include a safe warm up and a real cool down), yoga and for the past ten years Pilates.

My heritage in Pilates is in Movement Science and in summer we use the park with its benches and picnic tables and monkey bars as part of our routine. I would love to review the DVD.

  38. July 23rd, 2011 at 3:56 pm

I would love to review this DVD. As Brooklyn Bridge Bootcamp devotee, I can’t wait to see how this DVD holds up to the real class.

Brutally honest – that’s me. I can also admit to my own failures (ie. tell you where someone might find themselves going wtf, why does my knee hurt when i do this) I am training for a marathon right now and can totally use the change of pace, distraction and strengthening that this will surely give me… I’m your girl.
