90-Second Interval: How to breathe through a freak-out with Dr. Jim Nicolai

Our new video series, 90-Second Intervals, are shot at Well+Good’s cozy headquarters in West Soho. At the loft, we’re constantly interviewing the wellness scene’s movers and shakers; we started asking them to share what’s on their mind—in 90 seconds or less. Totally unedited. One take.

This week, Dr. Jim Nicolai, medical director of the Andrew Weil, M.D., Integrative Wellness Program at Miraval Resort and Spa shares his go-to breathing technique for dealing with stress, so you can prevent freak-outs where they most often occur, like at your desk.

For more tips, check out Dr. Nicolai’s new book Integrative Wellness Rules.

This is a great video to help manage stress. Stress can often lead to weight gain. Stress negatively impacts multiple body systems, impairing your immune system, darkening your mood and adding a little extra padding to your waistline.

The holiday season can be a source of stress for many. Simple stress reduction techniques and a bit of awareness can ensure you don’t become a victim of stress. Thanks for the video tips just in time for the holidays!
