The healthy person’s pudding

Chia Pod

If Jell-O pudding cups are your idea of the perfect snack, except for, well, what’s in them—Chia Pods may be the perfect solution.

The Chia Co.’s new product, which debuted at Whole Foods stores today, is a single serving of chia seed pudding, made from just a few all-natural ingredients.

Each little plastic cup contains just chia seeds, water, coconut milk, and a fruit puree that varies depending on the flavor—like banana, mango, or blueberry (there’s also a non-fruit vanilla).

The flavors are just sweet enough without delivering a sugar rush (they contain about 5g from the fruit, with no added sugar). The vanilla and banana varieties were our favorites. And the consistency of all the flavors resembles tapioca.

Bonus: Each pod comes with an adorable orange spoon tucked underneath the lid, so you can get your daily dose of omega-3s, a boost of fiber, and a little serving of protein, whether or not there’s a silverware drawer handy.
