My Favorite Green Juice Recipe: Thug Kitchen
The blogger behind Los Angeles-based vegan recipe site Thug Kitchen is famously incognito. No one knows who “they” are, where exactly they are, or why they’re doing this. But one thing is for sure: thousands of people, including Gwyneth Paltrow, are smitten with their tough love, in your face, gangster-style approach to veganism. (Take this potty-mouth photo from their site as an example.)
Pair their raunchy, hilarious point of view with their creative, healthy takes on burly, meat-based dishes (e.g.: bean and spinach patty sliders and a chickpea and broccoli burrito), and it comes as no surprise that the blog, started in fall 2012, already has a book deal in the works.
Until it drops, you can get delicious recipes on their site, like this spinach-based blender green juice. Because as they so aptly put it, “there’s so much god damn spinach in this shit, even Popeye can’t hate.” —Jamie McKillop
