DreamDry debuts a Columbus Circle salon
Rachel Zoe’s blowout salon DreamDry opened the doors of its second New York City location, on West 57th Street near Columbus Circle, on Friday.
The Drybar competitor debuted its first salon in the Flatiron in February and is planning a larger national expansion. Drybar is way head when it comes to locations, with five in New York City and dozens across the country, but DreamDry has distinguished itself by also offering dry-hair styles, like braids and ponys, that cost less, and by offering super-early and late appointments for busy working women.
The 1,800-square-foot Columbus Circle salon is home to 18 chairs and a new runway-inspired layout, plus an expanded VIP area for private appointments and events.
And while the original salon is located right next door to Flywheel’s Flatiron studio for post-class convenience, this one is just a few blocks away from the cycling brand’s new Upper West Side studio opening in December. The pairings may have to do with the fact that the companies share an investor, or it could be coincidence, or—it may just make sweaty sense. —Lisa Elaine Held
