Complete Body to reopen its flagship gym in the Financial District

Complete Body Financial District

The new Financial District flagship of Complete Body, its third New York location, is loaded with amenities. The company also develops corporate, residential, and hotel fitness facilities around the world.

After a forced gut renovation due to Hurricane Sandy damage, Complete Body is finally set to reopen the doors of its flagship gym on October 1—a three-story, 30,000-square-foot collection of luxe equipment and amenities in the Financial District. (For some comparison, CLAY Health Club & Spa is 20,000 square feet and the Equinox Soho gym is 40,000. In other words, this gym is substantial!)

Complete Body has two other New York locations, on the Upper East Side and in Chelsea. They’ve become hotspots for independent trainers and their clients, as well as  popular studio space for “homeless” group fitness brands like Mahri Relin Body Conceptions, who hold classes here.

Each facility is tailored to its location, and the new downtown gym is clearly courting Wall Street bankers with its fitness fixtures and swish amenities. (Interesting fact: The space was once the Goldman Sachs gym.)

The gym will feature all new equipment, a group fitness studio with a full schedule of classes, a cross training studio for a unique class that utilizes the My Zone heart-rate monitoring system, a spin studio, and a rock climbing wall. And amenities include saunas, steam rooms, spa services, a juice bar, and an in-house physical therapy clinic.

“We’re basically catering to a more corporate crowd,” says PR and marketing director Amisha Mulji. And given Wall Street’s appetite for green juice, the neighborhood’s thirst for more healthy-living options might not be far off the mark. —Lisa Elaine Held
