No, this “sexercise” workout is not a joke
It may sound like an April Fool’s Day joke, but trainer Jason Rosell is totally serious about his new workout program, Sexercise, which he demonstrated for the Daily News this week. The workout is not about turning sex into exercise, but about exercising for better sex (while incorporating weird sexual undertones).
Rosell, who says he’s trained “celebrities including Snooki and Drew Carey” (they sexercise? together?) is a veteran of three reality TV series. He’s also an “EDM/LatinPop music artist,” and his sexercise program comes with the release of a single, #Sexercise, complete with music video. (Picture lots of gyrating and lyrics like, “Let me see you stretch it out, stretch your body on the floor.”)
According to the News, “The 32-minute workout combines three rounds of 45-second cardio-based sexercises such as squats, lunges and booty pops designed to tone glutes, quads and calves so couples can keep going all night long.” Squats are “deeper” to strengthen “thrusting” muscles, and there’s also a move called “leg scissors” which essentially sounds like driving your crotch into your gym buddy while they just sit there. Read: “Wrap your legs around your partner, lift body off the floor by thrusting upwards while tightening your abs, glutes and hamstrings at the same time.”
For the record, we totally agree that working out will boost your skills and endurance in the sack, but you can probably just stick to doing squats the way you always do and save the thrusting for home. Please. —Lisa Elaine Held
