AB_headshot_DariaBishopAlexia Brue moved to New York City in 1995, just long enough to call herself a New Yorker and to remember the City before yoga studios, spas, juice bars, Lululemon locations, and vegan cafes dotted the streets. Her dream of opening a Turkish hammam morphed into a travel memoir, Cathedrals of the Flesh: My Search for the Perfect Bath, and her interest in quirky, off-the-beaten path health experiences grew into a journalistic beat. Alexia was a contributing editor at Luxury SpaFinder and Spa magazines, and has written on health and travel for the New York Times Magazine, Vogue, Conde Nast Traveler, and many American and British newspapers.
