After testing the waters (literally and figuratively) with an invite-only trip to Moab and then an enter-to-win event in San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua, the first official, open-to-the-public escape will take place January 9 to 16, 2016, at Xinalani Eco-Resort—an apparently amazing spot that’s accessible only by boat, with rooms overlooking the white sand beach built right into the side of a mountain—in Yelapa, Mexico.
Led by New York City-based yoga teacher Aarona Ganesan (who may be known to Well+Good readers as Aarona Pichinson) and Los Angeles yogi, healthy eating expert, and Philosophie founder Sophie Jaffe, the seven-night retreat will include daily yoga classes, surfing instruction, to spa treatments.
In addition, Ganesan and Jaffe plan to lead a series of self-care and empowerment workshops specifically created for women—sorry guys, it’s a ladies-only retreat. “When women come together, I feel like there is a really special bonding that happens,” says Ganesan. “I’m excited to take that to the next level and really connect around wellness, yoga, nutrition, and self-love.” There’s also a three-day vegan food-based cleanse that’s optional (no pressure, but Jaffe is a total superfood pro).
Feeling inspired to book a little New Year’s me-time? Spots are filling up fast, Jaffe says. But, if you can’t make this one, don’t stress; they’re scoping destinations like Hawaii and southern Spain for the next escape. Or scan the Free People Instagram for what could amount to a sneak peek.
Like your retreats a little more hardcore? This one includes one of the most extreme cleanses on earth…
