1. Senior Editor
(Posted July 16, 2015)
Well+Good, the premier lifestyle and news publication dedicated to the wellness scene, has an immediate opening for a full-time Senior Editor in its airy and light-filled New York offices, where there may also occasionally be free green juices and coffee.
Reporting directly to the Editorial Director, the Senior Editor is a whip-smart, detail-obsessed editorial standard bearer who will be responsible for maintaining, on a day-to-day basis, the consistency, readability and accuracy of our product. The Senior Editor will also partner with the Features Editor to help set our editorial product development and strategy.
The ideal candidate will have experience with online lifestyle journalism, preferably within health and wellness or fitness and beauty, a proven background in top editing and copy editing, excellent news and photo judgment, and the ability to make any piece of copy sing, from the headline through the body. Bottom line: you make everything beautiful and you don’t let crap get published. Under your watch, no substandard content will ever see the light of the Internet’s day.
This is not a reporting role. Instead, you will be managing a number of editorial projects and helping develop the writing chops of a dedicated and growing team of staff writers and freelancers. This is the perfect opportunity for a wellness-obsessed editor who is passionate about perfecting voice, tone and presentation.
The ideal candidate should also be positive, extremely organized and adept at working under tight daily deadlines.
The ability to teach us a thing or two about crow pose or willingness to share your favorite smoothie bowl recipes is also totally a bonus.
