The Half Bun: 9 Ways to Wear the Hairstyle of the Moment
High temps mixed with crazy humidity is a great formula for hair disasters. But the return of a '90s hair trend may help you manage the summer heat.
Reintroducing—the half bun.
While it won't save your sweaty neck, the casual-chic look will keep your hair out of your face, says Los Angeles-based celebrity stylist Sunnie Brook. "It's a great option if you don't like wearing your hair all the way up and enjoy having a bit of length around your face," she says. And it may be the easiest style to DIY, ever.
How to do it: "This look takes less than a minute and looks better the more messy texture you add to it. If you have slippery straight hair, use a texture spray to create a bit more texture," Brook advises. "If you have a shorter face, opt for the 'mini' version by taking a smaller section of hair from temple-to-temple and sitting the knot high on the head. If you have a longer face or narrow forehead, pull the knot from ear-to-ear to the back of the head, verses the top."
