Here’s What Kind of Ambitious Capricorn You Are, According to Your Moon Sign
Learning about a Capricorn moon sign (the sign the moon was in when they were born) is especially revealing because this is a sign that doesn't tend to be very open about their feelings. "The moon has a more subtle impact on Capricorns simply because they are more about reality, facts, and how they're moving through life day to day," says astrologer and women's empowerment coach Natalia Benson. "I wouldn't say that emotions are something they naturally traverse. Capricorn may have more of an ability to compartmentalize their emotions and look at them objectively." A Capricorn's moon sign can indicate how they naturally process these behind-the-scenes feelings, which can be useful intel for both them and the people around them.

Here are the 12 combinations of Capricorn moon signs and how they influence the typical Capricorn personality
Capricorn with an Aries moon
"This is going to be a strong-willed Capricorn who is very emotionally independent," says Benson. "Capricorn and Aries are both cardinal signs, which means they're people who like to initiate and lead." Those with this combination will have no trouble climbing to the top of whatever they choose to do—their signs are represented by a goat and a ram, after all—but Benson warns that they may have a tendency to isolate themselves. "Know that it's okay to ask for help and let the people in your life know you care about them," she says.
Capricorn with a Taurus moon
Put these two Earth signs together, and you'll likely find someone who's as grounded as it gets. "This person is probably very patient and slow to process things—not in a negative way, but they just feel like time is on their side," says Benson. While she admits that this can be frustrating to the faster-moving people in their lives, the upside is that they're very loyal. "They may not say what they feel, but they'll show you what you mean to them through their actions"
Capricorn with a Gemini moon
While Capricorn has a reputation of being very methodical and strategic, a Gemini moon placement helps bring some buzzy energy to that structure. "When you have a Gemini moon, it puts emphasis on emotional fulfillment through communication and self-expression," says Benson. "Communication, writing, social media—these can all be ways they connect to people they care about." This is a Capricorn who will call you frequently to catch up, even when they're working long hours to finish a major project.
Capricorn with a Cancer moon
Stoic Capricorn and sensitive Cancer are opposites on the zodiac wheel, so this combination can either result in a balanced personality or someone who's at odds with themselves. "Capricorn just wants to build and make things happen, while the Cancer moon placement wants to feel and explore life in a deeper way," says Benson. "There's a unique synergy and opportunity for emotional mastery with this combo." She adds that this person would likely be a "great bullshit detector," given the no-nonsense side of Capricorn and the intuitive aspects of Cancer.
Capricorn with a Leo moon
This isn't the most harmonious sun-moon combination, says Benson. "Capricorn wants to maneuver through life with structure and method, and as a fire sign, Leo is very passionate and intense," she adds. "There's a very different pace to both of those things." On a more positive note, this person would likely be very influential, since both Capricorn and Leo are associated with leadership. "It's important for them to stay in integrity and make sure their relationships are an equal give and take—that they're not just demanding a lot from the people in their lives," Benson says.
Capricorn with a Virgo moon
It's not always easy to get to know someone with this double-Earth-sign energy; according to Benson, this is one of the most guarded Capricorns you'll meet. "A Capricorn with a Virgo moon really vets people with the test of time before allowing them to get super-close," she says. "If you're dating them, you may be like 'I've been seeing this person for a year, when are we going to be official?'" But if you're able to be patient, this person could very well be worth the wait, despite their workaholic tendencies. "They have a very powerful mind and love to learn," she adds.
Capricorn with a Libra moon
Capricorn is the sign of the boss, and Libra is associated with relationships—put them both together and you get someone who gives their all to their partner. "In their relationships, this could be someone who is very much a leader," says Benson. "They're likely highly committal and may wait to see if you're really someone they can invest in." If you get their seal of approval, prepare to have them on your side for the long haul. "If they're unhappy, it's typically because something is amiss in their close relationships," Benson says.
Capricorn with a Scorpio moon
"This is a very deep-feeling combination for a Capricorn," says Benson. "It's probably someone who has powerful intuition about other people and who may be sensitive to their surroundings and devoted in their relationships when they deem someone to be a suitable partner." But don't mistake this Scorpio sensitivity for weakness—they often don't take it lightly when someone close to them crosses their boundaries. "If they feel that someone isn't trustworthy, it's very hard for them to forgive, because they offer so much to the people who are close to them," Benson says.
Capricorn with a Sagittarius moon
A Sagittarius moon brings a sense of levity to Capricorn's seriousness. "These people often have a very passionate, fun-loving side. They love to travel, they love to learn, and they have a really deep curiosity about life," says Benson. In some cases, however, they can hide their emotions behind a joke. "They'll show up for you because that Capricorn loyalty is there, but it doesn't always mean you know where you stand with them. It's that playful, neither-here-nor-there kind of emotional energy," she says.
Capricorn with a Capricorn moon
Put simply, a double Capricorn is someone who "means business with life," says Benson. "This is going to be someone who can be very serious—they consider the facts and ramifications of everything because they have such a focused personality." It's important for this person to take time in nature to nurture all of their earthy energy and counteract some of their workaholic-leaning tendencies, she adds. "They really like to work because Capricorn is all about building things—they like to be at the top of the mountain."
Capricorn with an Aquarius moon
Emotional depth isn't a key trait for Capricorn or Aquarius—as Benson puts it, a person with this sun-moon mix may come across as aloof and disconnected. But beneath the cool facade, the Capricorn with an Aquarius moon cares deeply about helping others. "This can be someone who builds a nonprofit," says Benson. "That Aquarius moon can give a lot of passion around helping humanity on some level, and Capricorn can be very much about service as well. They just may not be as outwardly expressive with their emotional nature."
Capricorn with a Pisces moon
If there were ever a Capricorn who would be into crystals and tarot cards, it would be this one. "You wouldn't typically think of a Capricorn as a deeply mystical personality, but with a Pisces moon, this can be someone who loves to study more spiritual principles and bring them down to Earth," says Benson. "It's a very unique balance between looking at the world through a realistic lens and a very dreamy, emotional personality."
