This Week’s Waning Moon Packs Fresh-Start Energy—But May Require You To Make Emotional Compromises
Still, with the sun, Venus, and Eris in Aries, making an applying square to Pluto in Capricorn, it's essential to dig deep and ask yourself where you are giving your power away, and more importantly, how you can take it back. And that's what the week ahead asks for: taking power back.
Waning moons invite us to release and liberate ourselves from the obstacles that restrict our truth's expression. They call us to look at what's blocking our direction forward and choose what we need to surrender to become more congruent and aligned with our soul's truth. This is what Sunday's waning quarter moon in Capricorn wants for us; to evaluate our lives, name what's no longer working, and then do the work to make a change. It's not an easy task, especially since at 6:02 a.m., ET, on April 4th at 15°, the waning quarter moon square Venus in Aries perfects.
The moon square Venus and the sun transit indicates that we'll need to make an emotional compromise. Yet Mercury, now in Aries, ignites our focus on ourselves—and it asks us to move in the direction of our desires, goals, and dreams—without compromise. Herein lies the conflict. We need to cooperate with others while taking a stand for our non-negotiable priorities.

The essence of being able to do this is an exercise in values conflict resolution, which means understanding and honoring your values without asking another to betray theirs (and vice-versa). Said another way? If possible, find the win-win. And if that's not possible, stand your ground with dignity.
Speaking of win-win, on Tuesday, Venus makes a helpful sextile to Mars. This harmonious blend suggests that we might feel energy fit to burst. Venus is in Aries (a fire sign) and Mars is in Gemini (an air sign), and they blend exceptionally well together and have a very energizing vibe. Meanwhile, Venus also forms an applying sextile to Jupiter, which perfects on Saturday. Venus's harmonious angle to Jupiter lends auspicious support.
Yet even still, as the week moves on and the moon wanes dark, the upbeat energy will likely give way to something a bit more personal—especially come Friday, when Mercury conjoins Chiron, calling our attention inward.
As our cocooned quarantine status quickly gives way to the buzz of an emerging vaccinated world, ready to reengage in socializing, our conscious and unconscious minds might have a hard time reconciling the ways things were (tucked away and quiet) with the way things are becoming (somewhat social and mobile again).
After a year of everyone taking such a big step back, many of us have changed dramatically. So, it's normal for this transition to feel awkward and jarring, especially for those of us who quickly fall back into the trap of FOMO and hyper-vigilance when it comes to socializing.
Mercury's conjunction with Chiron asks us to find compassion for ourselves and others as we begin the re-socialization process. Remember, Chiron represents the wound that never heals but helps us to develop deeper self-knowledge and the ability to support others who struggle in a similar vein. So, if you start to feel antsy or insecure, take a second and ground yourself. We are all going through this together. Nobody is any further ahead of you when it comes to knowing how to reengage post-lockdown incrementally while safely maintaining boundaries.
Meanwhile, Friday brings another whammy with Mars in Gemini squaring Neptune in Pisces. This combination may just correlate with massive waves of emotions. Mars is action, and Neptune in Pisces relates to oceanic emotional tides. This is not small energy, especially with the moon in Pisces and Jupiter trining Mars, too, while Venus conjoins Eris, the dwarf planet of discord and rage, in a square to Pluto.
The week potentially ends with things feeling eruptive, emotional, and chaotic. If discord unfolds, do your best to ground yourself, and remember that while you can't control the world around you, you can control how you respond to the world around you.
Come Saturday, the day before the next new moon, which happens in Aries on the 11th, review the week and determine what you need to surrender before the new moon. Consider writing out all of that you wish to leave behind and then rip the paper up and flush it. The new moon in Aries is essential, so rest up and prepare accordingly.
