These Soothing CBD Products Eased Me Back Into My Pre-Pandemic Training Routine (Sans Aches and Pains)
I personally distracted myself from the ominous reality by diving into physical fitness. I was Youtube-ing workout videos, taking socially distanced walks at every free moment, and keeping a pair of coveted dumbbells close by at all times. And then I stopped.
As the pandemic revealed itself to be much more than a two-week sprint, I quickly lost all motivation to throw myself into an intense workout routine. I—like all of us—was adjusting to my new normal, and dumbbells and virtual HIIT workouts quickly got pushed out by Zoom happy hours with friends, afternoon baking sprees, and endless Netflix binges (no shame, we all deserve comfort wherever we happen to find it).
It's now been over a year since that quick pivot from intense fitness to lack thereof, and now I'm ready to get into the gym (though I'm not swearing off happy hours or baking). Getting back into regular workouts has come with a lot of ups and downs, but there's been one crucial constant: dosist's new advanced topical CBD+ relief collection.
Made with a combination of CBD, CBG, and CBC (we'll get into these acronyms in a minute), dosist's natural pain relief solutions were exactly what my back-to-movement muscles were craving. If you have considered using CBD for workout recovery, allow me to share why it's my new favorite secret.

Not just CBD
Known for its calming effects, cannabidiol (CBD) is a cannabinoid that comes from the cannabis plant that has also been shown to help ease aches and pains. The dosist CBD+ relief topicals (which come in roll-on, lotion, and performance spray form) lean on both high-quality, potent CBD, and additional soothing cannabinoids including cannabigerol (CBG) and, in the performance spray, cannabichromene (CBC).
I typically use either the dosist relief topical roll-on or the topical lotion on the days I'm running or going for an extra long walk. On my strength training days—tbh, it's been a long time since I lifted weights so these are a lot more work for my muscles—I opt for the topical performance spray.
Made with a third cannabinoid, the topical spray is for those more intense workout days that could benefit from performance-level relief. Cannabichromene—yes, it's as fancy as it sounds—is known to help relieve pain and inflammation and assist with physical recovery, while simultaneously boosting the effects of CBD and CBG (meanwhile, I'm free to do another set of squats without worrying about how sore I'm going to be the next day).
The unexpected benefits
Confession time: From foam rollers to a Theragun to massage balls, I own just about every recovery gadget out there—and I'm a bit embarrassed to say I never use them. Whether I'm drenched in sweat after a run or have timed my Saturday perfectly to have just enough time between my workout and brunch plans to get ready, I barely set aside time to stretch, let alone do a whole recovery routine.
All three of the dosist CBD+ relief products are easy enough to apply quickly or on the go, which was a big part of why I was able to stay consistent. I quickly made them part of my post-shower routine, and while I'm not regularly going to workout classes quite yet, I already know it'll be so easy to just toss the roll-on in my gym bag.
Plus—and I wasn't expecting this—they actually feel like part of my skin-care/beauty routine. While the lotion is the most obvious skin care-adjacent, all three feel almost luxurious to use—not something I was expecting from a relief-focused product. The smell is crisp and refreshing, and not at all clinical or overpowering. Basically, I came for the cannabinoids and stayed for the skin care. It's the little things, amiright?
