‘The World’s Most Indulgent Sunscreen’ Is 18 Percent Off (Just in Time for Summer)
From physical to chemical SPF, in formats ranging from lotions to sprays and sticks, the options for sunscreen are plentiful. You’re certainly spoiled for choice these days, but as dermatologists have repeatedly told us, the best sunscreen is one you will look forward to applying and reapplying daily. One such option is the Vacation Chardonnay Oil ($18), which has amassed a following, counting among them Well+Good staffers.
With sunny days upon us, it’s high time to stock upon on SPF, and for a limited time, QVC is slashing 18 percent off the Vacation Chardonnay Oil, bringing the price down from $22 to $18.
Originally $22, now $18
Size: 3.4 fl oz
Pros:
- Broad-spectrum SPF 30 protection
- Vegan and cruelty-free formula
- Made without oxybenzone and octinoxate, in accordance with the Hawaii Reef Compliant Act 104
Cons:
- Might not be suited for people who are sensitive to fragrance
Indeed, there is much to love about Vacation’s Chardonnay Oil.
- Elizabeth Hale, MD, board-certified dermatologist, vice president of the Skin Cancer Foundation, and clinical associate professor of dermatology at New York University Langone Medical Center
For one, it boasts broad-spectrum protection and SPF 30, which meets the recommendation of both the American Academy of Dermatology Association (AAD) and the Skin Cancer Foundation for adequate protection against UVA and UVB rays.
It’s also with a bevy of skin-loving ingredients. Its standout ingredient is chardonnay grapeseed oil, which imparts a glowy-but-not-greasy sheen that will make you look like you belong on Baywatch. In addition to grapeseed oil, it includes jojoba and shea oils, along with vitamin E to stave off dryness and safeguard against the effects of free radicals, such as dark spots and discoloration.

What you won’t find in the sunscreen oil are chemical ingredients, such as oxybenzone and octinoxate, that are known to be harmful to ocean life. As with all of Vacation’s SPF products, it’s formulated in accordance with the Hawaii Reef Compliant Act 104, which prohibits the sale of sunscreen containing these ingredients in Hawaii.
As a bonus, it’s infused with a fragrance that Vacation dubbed “Grand Cru ’86.” Inspired by French bubbly, the scent is sure to uplift the mood, much in the same way as the effervescent beverage. All of this, of course, is wrapped up in the brand’s signature retro-inspired packaging.
In short, it makes the act of slathering on sunscreen much more appealing—and, dare we say, more fun. According to board-certified dermatologist Elizabeth Hale, MD, vice president of the Skin Cancer Foundation and chief medical advisor to Vacation, in a Well+Good interview: “Applying this SPF ends up feeling like an indulgent self-care moment rather than a chore.”
Much of the same can be said about the rest of Vacation’s “leisure-enhancing” products, many of which are on sale at QVC. Just don’t wait too long—this sale is limited time only.
