11 Pairs of Sneakers That Go With Everything and Are Actually Comfy

One of the things I love about living in 2021 is that people wear sneakers with everything—jeans, leggings, cocktail dresses, the list goes on. However, whether you, personally, subscribe to the "sneakers go with everything" mantra or not, having a pair of shoes that goes with everything takes the guesswork out of getting dressed. And given that comfort is a key priority in this equation, sneakers fit the bill.

If you, like me, walk a lot in sneakers, you want to find a pair (or two, or three…) that feel supportive, no matter if you're running around town or taking your dog on a leisurely walk around the neighborhood. Below, Summer Bochat, DPM, and Ashley Lee, DPM, podiatrists at Northern Illinois Foot & Ankle Specialists, share some of their favorite everyday sneakers that are cute and supportive.

11 supportive sneakers that go with everything

Veja V-10 Sneakers — $175.00

Meghan Markle has a way of creating instant trends (followed by instant sell-outs and waitlists) for basically anything she wears, including these Veja V-10 sneakers. If you’ve seen more of these around in the past few years, you can thank Markle who introduced many Veja fans when she appeared in a pair several years ago.

Cariuma Off-White Canvas — $82.00

These sustainable sneakers are one of our favorite pairs. With almost 7K, five-star reviews, your foot will be supported, and you can truly wear these kicks with anything. Consider them a blank canvas.

Nike Air Force One — $100.00

Nike Air Force Ones are a classic in their own right. If you’ve yet to snag a pair, maybe a podiatrist’s stamp of approval will help? “These are casual but so in and so versatile. Wear them with a dress or jeans. Your own orthotic will also fit in this shoe,” says Dr. Lee.

Birkenstock Bend Low — $150.00

Birkenstock makes your fave casual slides, and yes also makes equally comfy and cute sneakers. Dr. Lee likes Birkenstocks for everyday wear since “they have a great supportive footbed.” The Bend Low sneaker comes in three everyday neutrals, plus the cork footbed you know and love.

Naot Apollo Buzz — $195.00

Dr. Bochat likes Naot shoes (like this pair) since they have a cork footbed, which she says offers support and molds to your foot over time. The Apollo Buzz comes in three different color combos that pretty much go with any outfit.

Adidas Stan Smith — $85.00

It’s no secret that Meghan Markle has seriously good sneaker game, which is why yet another Meghan-approved pick is on this list. Whenever I think “classic go-with-everything” sneakers, Stan Smiths are top of mind. They’re classic, versatile, comfy—you can’t go wrong with these whether you’re wearing jeans or a fun dress (and beyond!).

Everlane The Releather Court Sneaker — $110.00

If sustainable and minimalist are two words that describe your style, Everlane’s everyday sneaker checks those boxes and more. The ReLeather Sneaker is made of recycled leather scraps and the brand says they’re with minimal water and waste. The off-white shade is perfect for transitional weather, but you can get the shoes in multiple white, off-white, and trendy color combos.

Thousand Fell — $120.00

If your sneaker collection could use a more sustainable upgrade, enter Thousand Fell, a brand that scores big when it comes to sustainability. Thousand Fell’s sneakers are fully recyclable and made from a combo of recycled water bottles, food waste, and natural rubber. They currently come in 13 color variations—giving you more custom color choices than most basic sneaker styles out there.

OOFOS OOMG Low Shoe — $140.00

Recovery footwear brand OOFOS shoes are made to help you out post-workout, but these shoes will be your new go-to on any day. They’re approved by Dr. Lee who says they’re “casual but comfy—like you are walking on a cloud.” Another plus with these is that they’re machine washable.

Vionic Simasa Sneakers — $140.00

If you haven’t heard of Vionic yet, allow me (and podiatrist Dr. Bochat) to introduce you. Not only does the brand make a ton of different styles, but they are the perfect combination of stylish and supportive. “Shoes need to have good arch support. Just because the shoe has cushion and is comfortable when you try them on does not mean that they will be comfortable when standing or walking in them,” says Dr. Bochat, who adds the Vionic brand offers good arch support.

Clarks Craft Run Lace — $140.00

Both Dr. Bochat and Dr. Lee approve of Clarks shoes since they’re super supportive and come in a ton of different styles. The Craft Run Lace sneakers, which are made with suede and leather, may look heavy, but they are actually lightweight while still giving you some slip-preventing grip.
