“This is a hydrating and gentle exfoliative cleanser with salicylic acid, a beta-hydroxy acid,” says Dr. Lee. “The salicylic acid helps clear out the pores in acne-prone skin and it is gentle enough for routine exfoliation in normal skin.” The salicylic acid is derived from Aspen bark extract, and the formula also includes hydrating glycerin.

“This lightweight serum is hydrating due to hyaluronic acid, and it incorporates antioxidants like vitamin C and red algae,” says Dr. Lee. “I recommend applying this onto clean skin in the morning and before a moisturizing sunscreen.”

“Retinol is a powerful anti-aging ingredient that helps improve skin tone, reduces discoloration, and helps stimulate collagen,” says Dr. Lee. “The gentle moisturizing ingredients of shea butter and squalene improve the tolerability of the retinol which, when used alone, can be irritating. The combination of these ingredients should offer a nice rejuvenating and moisturizing night cream that is suitable for daily use.”
