If You’ve Been Sitting at a Desk All Day, This 13-Minute Workout Mobilizes Every Joint in Your Body
If flexibility is the cool brunette cheerleader in the 2009 Taylor Swift music video, then mobility is undoubtedly the blonde band geek pining from the bleachers. Mobility doesn't get nearly the attention and respect it deserves, but on this week's episode of Trainer of the Month Club, trainer Morit Summers of Form Fitness Brooklyn is here to show you that mobility truly belongs in your strength workouts.
"Today we're going to do a strength and mobility workout to get your body moving, and to make your body feel really great and strong," says Summers at the top of the equipment-free class.
Quick refresher: Flexibility refers to a given muscle's ability to stretch, while mobility speaks to how well said muscle can move within a joint. "Mobility is one of the most important aspects of both a successful training plan, and being well in the body over time," yoga and mobility instructor, Gabrielle Morbitzer previously told Well+Good.
Once you've put on your yoga clothes and unrolled your mat, you'll be treated to plenty of moves to mobilize your hips, shoulders, knees, and other joints. Some highlights include the yummy 90-90 stretch, shoulder flossing, and bird dogs. In just 13-minutes, you'll be all done and ready to enjoy a new feeling of freedom in your body.

Whether you're using Summers' quick mobility routine as a warm-up, cool down, or as the workout itself, this workout will fly by. And by the time she calls for the last mobility move, you'll basically be holding up that "I love you" sign to your joints... just like Taylor Swift did to Lucas Till way back when.
On that note, you're ready to mobilize.
