Tara Michaela is a New York-based black, queer sex educator and advocate, public speaker, and founder of The Youth Sexpert Program, a nonprofit sex education program for teenagers. Her work centers around how injustice, particularly racism and racial capitalism, manifests in sexual interactions. She also explores how social stigmas keep us all from being our best selves, pleasure as a form of liberation, and how we can close the orgasm gap, and communicates these issues with her community through her social media platforms and written work. She has written for sexual wellness brands such as Dame, Bloomi, and Lovability, Inc., and her work has also appeared in publications like BuzzFeed, Marie Claire, and Washington Square News. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Gender and Sexuality Studies from New York University.
