According to KTLA, four different universities across the United States—Loma Linda University, Penn State, Tufts University, and UCLA—are looking for 1,000 people to be part of an upcoming study called The Habitual Diet and Avocado Trial that's trying to find out if eating avocados can actually result in losing weight around the midsection or not. Right now, there are 250 spots available at each school—and your only job requirement is continuing your current diet, with the addition of one avocado a day for six months. Easy, right?

If you wind up being a lucky study participant, you'll be rewarded with an extra $300 in your pocket once the time is up. There is a catch though. To qualify, you have to be at least 25 years old, have a waist measurement of 35 inches or more, and can't be pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning a pregnancy. And since there are some in-person commitments involved, you should probably be within driving distance of one of the campuses.
The good news? Whether you can take part in this avocado adventure or not, you can still eat the creamy green fruit on the daily. You unfortunately just might not get paid for it.
