#BPOTD: the Ultra-Repairing Shampoo That Makes Every Day a Good Hair Day
Beauty editors have no shortage of skin-care and makeup goodies that come across our desks. So when we become obsessed with something, it says a lot. In our new “Beauty Product of the Day” series (#BPOTD, for short), we wax poetic about the items that are truly game changers for hair, skin, and nails.
I have the triple whammy of hair that's dyed, dry (thanks, New York City radiators), and pretty flat. On top of these dull characteristics, I'm too lazy to do anything with it besides wash and then air-dry—so you won't find me using a blow dryer (for the most part), styling spray, or any fancy tools to feign body in my strands.
This puts all the good-hair-day power in the hands of my shampoo. You could say I've been dating around from brand to brand, trying out different products for color-treated or damaged strands, without finding something good enough to keep me monogamous. That is, until I met Briogeo's new Don't Despair, Repair! Super Moisture Shampoo ($36).
I never anticipate much of a change after scrubbing my scalp with a new shampoo, but after using this product—which claims it'll hydrate and repair your hair without weighing it down—I was shook. I let my hair air-dry (naturally), and my strands were glistening with a healthy shine and had a nice texture. I caught myself playing with it each time I glided past a mirror, which is rare considering I usually would just pull at it, wondering why it looked so bad every day.

Briogeo uses algae extract to deliver vitamins, biotin (hair's MVP supplement for strength), and panthenol, which supposedly holds onto moisture while helping with hair elasticity (that bounce!). Brand founder Nancy Twine created this as a deep conditioning mask-shampoo hybrid that cleans like a real-deal shampoo but also has the magically restorative effects of a mask—something you'd typically only use once a week. The best part? It's literally 95 percent natural, so you're not getting that good 'do via silicones, sulfates, or anything else that coats your locks with chemicals that aren't doing it any favors.
You can say we've been going steady for a while now *hair flip.*
You can take these 10 supplements for fuller, thicker hair. But—will taking hair growth supplements make hair grow *all over* your body?
