How to Do a Full Face of Photo-Ready Clean Makeup in 15 Minutes
TBH, it probably did—and more power to her if makeup is her passion. But if you don't have the patience for a drawn-out makeup routine, you don't have to give up on your IG-worthy dreams, thanks to this simple tutorial from celebrity makeup artist Misha Shahzada.
As an artist with 12 years of experience who's worked with Emily DiDonato, Alessandra Ambrosio, and more, she knows her way around a makeup bag. One thing you'll always find in hers? Clean products.
"The benefits of using clean products are tremendous," Shahzada says. "They are often cruelty-free (a huge factor for me), and non-toxic. Just like eating a healthy, clean diet, it’s also important to incorporate clean beauty into your routine as much as possible."
Below, she shows us how to use just seven products (all of which have the Clean at Sephora seal, so you know they're free of parabens, sulfates, and a whole host of other ingredients you might not want), you can create a glowy summer look that will last all day and look great in photos. Selfie away.

Kosas Tinted Face Oil Foundation
Start by applying this lightweight foundation all over your face. “Since this is a sheer product, it doesn’t really need much work like traditional foundations,” Shahzada says.” Just dab some on your fingers, blend it into your skin, and you’re good to glow. Bonus: The elixir-like formula means it’s ultra hydrating, too.

RMS Beauty Living Luminizer
“This is such a sheer highlighter which gives that effortless ‘glow from within’ look that I love,” Shahzada says. “After applying your foundation (or even if you aren’t wearing any), warm a bit of the product into your fingertips and apply to the cheekbones, bridge of nose, and cupid’s bow.” This one’s a cult fave for a reason.

Lawless Seal The Deal Loose Setting Powder
Lock your look in place with a sheer setting powder to achieve that airbrushed finish. Shahzada suggests using a small fluffy brush, so you only powder the necessary areas such as your T-zone and chin. The talc-free formula will work double time to absorb excess oil throughout the day, not just when you apply.
$36
Aether Beauty Summer Solstice Eyeshadow Palette
Pro tip: You can create a fully monochrome look by using the same eyeshadow shade on both your eyes and cheeks. “I would use this palette as a sheer coat on the eyes and/or cheekbones using finger tips for a lighter application,” Shahzada says. “For a heavier, buildable coverage, add more product to the eyes using a blending brush.” Plus, this palette packs coconut and organic prickly pear oils for smooth application and a radiant effect.
$58
Ilia Limitless Lash Mascara
“I love this mascara!” Shahzada says. “The brush separates the lashes so nicely and conditions at the same time so it’s clump-free.” She recommends making sure lashes are fully dry and free of face oils before applying mascara. “[You can remove oils by] brushing a tiny amount of translucent powder on the lashes (with eyes closed to avoid powder getting into the eyes), and follow with mascara to keep lashes looking extra full.”
$28
Lilah B Aglow Face Mist
This versatile face mist can be used pre-makeup to moisturize, post-makeup to set your look, or any time during the day you need a lavender-scented pick-me-up. “I love prepping the skin with a few sprays before applying moisturizer and carrying the bottle in my bag for a refresher spray during the day,” Shahzada says.
$48
Bite Beauty Agave+ Daytime Vegan Lip Balm
“Since we tend to ingest our lip balm, I love that his one is clean,” Shahzada says. “It’s easy to use straight from the tube, and I also like to dilute with any lipstick for a stained lip look.” Swipe away: The balm is loaded with vitamin E and omega-6 fatty acids to moisturize and plump your pucker as you wear it.
