The Energizing Essential Oils to Keep at Your Desk
Unless your boss is Arianna Huffington, you probably can't get away with a quick snooze session at work. The solution? It isn't caffeine or a cold shower, it's turning on your diffuser and breathing in some essential oils. (Plus, a diffuser is less conspicuous than an Ostrich pillow.)
Amy Galper of the New York Institute of Aromatherapy says that if you're looking for an essential oil energy kick, there are three ways to get one: through warming oils, cooling oils, and evergreen oils.
If you like "warming" energy (AKA the kind that gets your blood flowing), Galpert suggests trying ginger, cardamom, and nutmeg, which help improve circulation while warming your body.

If being too warm is not your style (nothing like a hot shower to help you fall asleep), you could look to cooling and energizing oils such as eucalyptus, peppermint, and fennel seed.
And if you want an energy boost that's more in between the warm and cool varieties, Galper suggests taking a virtual trip to the forest with pine, juniper, or cypress.
All the options sound wonderful, TBH. Who wouldn't want to be surrounded with scents like cardamom and eucalyptus? That midday slump doesn't stand a chance.
Now that you know how to get energized, here are the essential oils that'll help you wind down and the diffusers to put your oils in.
