WEEK ONE: Detoxifying Gently
It's go time. And that means you'll be taking stock of the past year—the highs and lows, in your life and the world. But it also means actively opening your spirit to change. Self-care champion and Well+Good Council Member Latham Thomas will kick things off with a powerful manifesto on being a badass...without burning yourself out.
"The better you are at checking in with yourself, the more attuned you'll become to what you really want to be doing," Thomas says. It's a good lesson to keep in mind as you embrace growth to propel yourself forward to your own definition of success.
WEEK TWO: Finding a Groove
Now's the time to begin laying the foundation for healthier, happy-making patterns. Beginning at the center of it all—your bed!—home expert Athena Calderone will show you exactly how to make your bedroom a sanctuary. Something else that should help you sleep more soundly? Creating a realistic budget, with guidance from finance guru Farnoosh Torabi.
By this point you should also be feeling clear and energized, thanks to the clean, super-nutritious, and totally yummy breakfast, lunch, and dinner recipes dreamed up by chef and wellness queen Candice Kumai. Score 15 new recipes to power you through this week.
WEEK THREE: Building Strength
You'll continue to solidify your potent new habits and hit your stride with some personal development exercises, including tips on upping your salary in 2018 from Well+Good Council Member Claire Wasserman. "There's no reason you shouldn't be earning what you deserve!" says Claire. (Yes!)
Speaking of exercises, in the third week of (Re)New Year, Flybarre's Kara Liotta shares three toning routines that work your body from head to toe and are based on just five moves. All you need is a mat...and the will to eke out one. more. rep. You've got this.
WEEK FOUR: Setting Goals
It's time to begin looking ahead to identify what you want to manifest in 2018. That includes setting some long-term financial goals (promise it'll be painless!), and embracing your true beauty ("imperfections" and all) with some #realtalk from beauty expert Jenny Patinkin, as well as upping your fitness game.
Trainer Jess Movold can really help you get stronger with a smile on her face (and yours)—after all, she shaved more than 20 minutes off her marathon finish time with targeted body-weight exercises.“You can learn to push through boundaries and get past thinking things are hard," Movold says. She'll share how over three 5-move routines.
WEEK FIVE: Finishing Strong
This week, mindfulness expert Gabrielle Bernstein, who's a New York Times bestselling author several times over, explores the F word (forgiveness!) with you, and design guru Athena Calderone offers up some brilliant rituals you can use at home. With the framework for transformation you've established during our 50+ days together, you're prepared to bring some seriously magical energy into your life, the work you do, and the world we live in.
The best part: The lessons (and recipes, and workouts, of course!) from (Re)New Year are yours to keep and refer back to, whenever you need to renew your commitment to yourself, all year long.
