With the Nodes of Fate Shifting to the Gemini-Sagittarius Axis, Adventures Lay Ahead This Week
To get started, Mercury, the planet of communication, makes some dream connections early this week: On May 4, Mercury conjoins the sun in Taurus. This combination invites you to pay close attention to any coincidences that feel meaningful to you. Synchronicity will play a significant role in the week ahead.
Then on May 5, the north node, which represents what we are moving toward, moves from Cancer into Gemini; and the south node, which represents our lessons, leaves Capricorn for Sagittarius. The meaning in this movement is that we have new adventures ahead. That's because the Gemini-Sagittarius axis represents the quest for knowledge and the ability to network. It’s less about home (Cancer) and work (Capricorn) and more about information (Gemini) and freedom (Sagittarius). Feeling this shift fully will take time, but if you pay attention to the subtlety, you'll notice these thematic moves emerging, simultaneously marking a major turning point in the year.
We have new adventures ahead: The Gemini-Sagittarius axis represents the quest for knowledge and the ability to network. It’s about information (Gemini) and freedom (Sagittarius).
Following the nodes’ shift to the Gemini-Sagittarius axis, we’ll experience the full flower moon in Scorpio on May 7 at 6:45 a.m., EST at 17 degrees. (The full flower moon perfects early in the day on the 7th, but we’ll explore her in her full glory on the 6th, as she opposes the sun in Taurus.) Also, at the exact moment of the full moon, Mercury sextiles Neptune, the planet of intuition, further illuminating your truth.
To make the most of this, listen to your intuition, and use its guidance to answer the following questions:
- What’s becoming clear to you?
- What are you learning about yourself?
- What direction are you feel nudged intuitively to take?
This full flower moon happens a little less than a week after the Gaelic May Day tradition of Beltane—a time to connect with our sexual drive and the embodiment of our sensual nature—and just a few days before Mother’s Day. Its energy commands a recognition of the force of the feminine. Adding upon the intuitive forces of the Mercury-Neptune sextile, we can expect this moon to awaken our psychic prowess and connect us with a truth emerging from within.

Yet, given that this full moon and Beltane occur amid the COVID-19 crisis, spring fever, which typically inspires playfulness and also often hints of recklessness, becomes about disciplined devotion. Rather than throwing out of the rules for some mid-spring fun, we are invited to stay the course with the transformation at hand. Though discipline evokes the opposite of the spring-fever spirit, for better of worse, it's what we are being asked to cultivate.
And, when looked at closely, it's clear this ask isn't such a bad thing or a tall order. As a reminder, the full moon is in Scorpio, and Mercury in Taurus is making notable aspects this week. With that in mind, know that Scorpio represents fixed water and Taurus represents fixed Earth. The Scorpio-Taurus axis is one of the most magical, power-driven, pleasure-oriented axes of the zodiac. Scorpio asks us to go deep, and Taurus invites us to nourish ourselves and enjoy the pleasures of the Earth. The axis invites us to nourish our dreams and stay consistent with their unfolding.
With the full moon in a trine to Neptune in Pisces, opposite the sun in pleasure-driven Taurus, you're invited to do exactly that: nourish and nurture yourself. Expect your imagination and spiritual dream state to feel activated. Take a luscious bath with essential oil, and let your body soak. Take time for sexual pleasure. Give yourself the time to simply be. If you can, get outside under the moonlight, and take in the lunar light to step into your goddess energy.
Then come the weekend, the real magic happens when Mercury trines the Jupiter-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn. Finally, you can expect your soul to speak loud and clear, giving clear directives on what it is you need to do to move in the direction of your dreams.
