How to Nail Stunning Beauty Looks From the Golden Globes

The Golden Globes were on fire last night in terms of empowerment. Besides the badass women who showed up wearing black in solidarity with the #TimesUp movement, Oprah'much talked about speech, and the countless stars who made a nod to gender inequality in their speeches, there was rarely a moment when women watching at home weren't beaming with pride.

So while the night wasn't exactly about beauty and fashion as much as in year's past, you have to admit that the event took place with all the usual glamour and style. Also deserving of awards were surprisingly easy-to-execute looks including top-knot- and ponytail-inspired updos, gemstone nail colors, glowy skin, and smoky eyes.

Below, tricks to nailing the stand-out looks from Alison Brie, Halle Berry, Issa Rae, and more.

Hair

Get the look: The key to Alison Brie's updated Audrey Hepburn updo: Mist damp hair with a styling spray such as Leonor Greyl Spray Structure Naturelle ($42), to give strands a good base. Once hair is dried, twist lengths through a large-barrel curling iron to smooth them; then, pull all of the hair into a top-knot on the crown of the head, leaving bangs swept to the side (if you have them).

Get the look: Halle Berry rocked a half-up 'do that was executed by first applying OGX Bodifying + Bamboo Fiber Full Root Boost Mousse ($7) to wet hair to create a nice base. Celebrity hairstylist, Castillo Bataille blow-dried strands and used an iron to create movement, pulling pieces back and twisting them into place with bobby pins.

Skin

Get the look: Celebrity facialist Joanna Vargas prepped Elisabeth Moss's complexion with her new Supernova Facial treatment, which involves saline and glycolic acid to exfoliate, microcurrent action, a thermal clay mask to detox impurities, cryotherapy, and lymphatic drainage (phew).

Get the look: To achieve Kaley Cuoco's level of radiance, she eye-masked pre-Globes with Nerium Moisture Boost Hydrogel Patches ($40). They're spiked with aloe vera leaf water to plump the area of the skin that's prone to getting some puffiness.

Makeup

Get the look: To get Issa Rae's lavender-toned lids, makeup artist Joanna Simkin layered hues from the CoverGirl TruNaked Roses Eyeshadow Palette ($13) to create a smoky gradient that added (gorgeous) dimension to Rae's eyes.

Get the look: Jennifer Aniston's effortlessly sweet pink makeup was executed by sweeping on Chantecaille's pink-toned highlighter duo from their L'Arbra Illuminé Palette ($75) on the cheeks, and golden brown shades for the eyes.
