This New Plant-Based Soft-Serve Yogurt Brand Will Top Your Bowl With CBD and Bee Pollen
Debuting this month at Smorgasburg NYC with flavors like Glow for nourishing skin (made with bee pollen, turmeric, and coconut), Immunity for supporting the gut (with coconut butter, ginger, and fig), and Vitality for energy (with matcha, maca-date caramel, and cacao), it's no wonder New York City-based Kokus is generating some serious buzz.
Probiotic-rich cultured coconut cream is used as the base for everything, and you can add additional buzzy ingredients like collagen-boosting coconut whip, blue majik dust, and a cannibidiol (CBD) cacao shell. And it sure doesn't hurt that the yogurt bowls—which sell for $8 to $12—are seriously beautiful.
Carli Blum founded the brand with health in mind. "I've had severe food allergies since birth and can't eat nuts, dairy, or soy," she says. "As a result, my digestion has always been a work in progress and I'm always researching and trying new natural remedies and culinary solutions. When I discovered coconut cream, I found it to be the perfect canvas for a beautiful, clean and healing product with probiotics."

While Kokus is still in startup mode, expansion is happening fast. Not only is the brand working with Adeline Waugh (AKA founder of Vibrant and Pure and unicorn and mermaid toast trend-starter), they have a partnership launching with Sweetgreen giving away free dessert to the first 100 customers three Wednesdays in August with the purchase of a salad after 7 p.m. (Their site has all the details.)
Their own brick-and-mortar pop-up is in the works too, opening this September in NYC. "Expect lots of beautiful colors, edible flowers, coconuts, and an exotic superfood toppings bar," Blum hints, adding that she drew inspiration from Bali, her summer getaway spot. No wonder her treats are essentially paradise in a bowl.
While you're in NYC, stop by one of these trendy, healthy hot spots. And if you can't make it, these vegan ice cream brands are pretty delicious, too.
