This Gorgeous Nightgown Collaboration Sold Out in Hours the Last Time It Launched—Luckily, It’s Back
Unlike the dingy oversized T-shirt I usually wear to bed, there’s something about wearing a nightgown that really delivers the main character energy. And the latest collaboration by Lake, the chic pajama brand beloved by homebodies like me (and Jennifer Garner!), and Mi Golondrina, a clothing company inspired by the traditional techniques of Mexican artisans, is no exception.
The Morning Midi Dress ($220) is a nightgown that looks so stunning, you can easily wear it while out and about, or for low-key gatherings at home. They even designed a Mini Morning Midi Dress ($128) for kids, which makes for an adorable photo-op (holiday photos, anyone?). The last Lake and Mi Golondrina collab sold out in only a few hours—so you’re going to want to jump on this new launch before they’re gone.
Made of 100 percent cotton poplin in a flowing, striped silhouette, the Morning Midi Dress has a crisp, lightweight feel that effortlessly transitions from your bed to the coffee shop. Playful femme accents like the puff sleeves (which are elasticated for extra comfort) and scalloped hem make the stylish nightgown a welcome upgrade from the mismatched tees and shorts that fill my pajama drawer. But if paired with my favorite mules, boots, or a cozy sweater—and I’ve got a casual staple I’ll feel good about wearing outside the house. I love a dress that can do both!
The best part of the Morning Midi Dress, though, is the embroidery along the hem. Hand embroidered by expert artisans in Oaxaca, Mexico, the traditional floral design dates back over 200 years and is Mi Golondrina founder Cristina Lynch’s love letter to her Mexican heritage. “I wanted to continue telling the story of Mexican art by preserving the traditions of hand-embroidery and empowering artisans throughout Mexico,” says Lynch.
Every single dress is first stamped with the pattern via an iron stamp, then stretched and meticulously hand embroidered.
