De-Stress With Lindsay Ellingson’s Do-Anywhere Yoga Pose
Lindsay Ellingson is a busy boss babe. Whether for a modeling gig or her cruelty-free cosmetics company Wander Beauty, she's regularly on the road, which can make finding time to de-stress kind of tricky. Good news, though: The former Victoria's Secret Angel often does a simple calming exercise that you easily copy.
While Ellingson loves taking hot yoga classes at New York City's Modo Yoga a few times a week ("I love how strong and calm I feel after each class," she wrote for Byrdie), there's one pose in particular she turns to when she's on the go and needs to slow down, mentally and physically.
"My favorite restorative pose is called legs up the wall. All you need is a little space and about 10 minutes. [It's] my go-to pose whenever I’m feeling stressed; it’s so refreshing and grounding for the body." —Lindsay Ellingson
"My favorite restorative pose is called legs up the wall," she wrote for Byrdie. "All you need is a little space and about 10 minutes. [It's] my go-to pose whenever I’m feeling stressed; it’s so refreshing and grounding for the body."
Because the inversion slows down your heart rate and drains tension, Ellingson uses it as a means reduce the repercussions of spending so much time on a plane. "I often do this pose in bed when traveling to beat jet lag and insomnia," she wrote. "It’s a great way to take a mental break from the day."
Even if you're stuck in a cramped hotel room, do as Ellingson does, and lie on the bed, scooch your behind to the headboard or wall, swing your legs up, breathe, and let the tension melt away.
