This 4-Ingredient Multitasking Balm Can Replace Half of Your Skin-Care Routine
If you're not familiar with Loli, know that it's a beauty brand that uses sustainably-sourced superfood ingredients in its potent formulas. While I've been a fan of the line for a while, the Date Nut Brûlée, has specifically won my heart for its multitasking powers. Housed in a glass container with a foil peel-back protectant (like you'd see on a yogurt), the balm works for three different parts of your skin-care routine: as a moisturizer, a cleanser, and a salve. And the product is made up of a mere four ingredients.
The hero ingredient here is the date nut seed oil, which is chock-full of antioxidants and fatty acids, making it as nourishing as it is protective. Then there's the organic olive oil, which is loaded with moisturizing vitamin E (which also makes the product an effective makeup remover). Tamanu oil is the third ingredient, which Loli founder Tina Hedges touts as being incredible at accelerating skin healing and scarring, as well as stimulating healthy new tissue. Finally, there's sunflower wax. "Sunflower wax is a vegan-friendly alternative to beeswax that's rich in essential fatty acids, carotenoids, and vitamins A, D, and E," notes Hedges. Together, the blend is like a smoothie for your skin.

If you're wondering how a product with only four ingredients be so transformative, don't let the simplicity fool you. The balm promises to do three things for your routine: it can be a solid cleansing balm that either wipes away makeup or washes away the day's dirt and oil; a salve that soothes dryness (I love it for my elbows, knees, lips, knuckles, scalp, and even the ends of my hair); and it also works as a moisturizer.

As a cleanser, the Date Nut Brûlée gently removes makeup without the need for tugging or pulling, and leaves my skin feeling clean, without being tight. And, as someone with dry everything, I love that I can turn to one product to alleviate dryness on all parts of my body—versus turning to a separate lip balm, hand cream, and body butter (which mean increasingly more packaging). When I apply it on top of my serum, my skin feels refreshed and hydrated, never heavy. What's more, my skin always looks radiant come morning. Makeup applies smoother, powders don't cake up, and my skin has an overall glow about it. When I don't use it, I notice a major difference. (PSA: try their Sea Buckthorn Seed Oil if your skin's on the oily side. You're welcome in advance.)
