3 Moments That Prove Meghan Markle and Prince Harry Are Relationship #goals
The bittersweet moment I've been dreading is finally here: Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are officially engaged, leaving no more eligible British royals for me to pine over. But I can find at least a little solace in the fact that Markle, an activist and star of the long-running show Suits, is a girl after my own avocado-loving heart. "Most things can be cured with either yoga, the beach, or a few avocados," she said to Vanity Fair. Of course, I couldn't agree more.
Plus, throughout their mostly private courtship, Prince Harry and Markle came to more or less define healthy relationship #goals. So, all things considered, I'm pretty excited for the happy couple (and anxiously awaiting news of how avocados may debut on the reception menu for their spring 2018 royal wedding).
3 times Meghan Markle and Prince Harry defined healthy relationship #goals.
1. When Prince Harry asked the public to back off
In a press statement toward the beginning of their relationship, Prince Harry's communication secretary wrote: "Prince Harry is worried about Ms. Markle’s safety and is deeply disappointed that he has not been able to protect her. It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms. Markle should be subjected to such a storm. He knows commentators will say this is ‘the price she has to pay’ and that ‘this is all part of the game’. He strongly disagrees. This is not a game—it is her life and his." Um, #swoon.

2. When Markle wouldn't let her relationship define her
Despite her changed relationship status to a particularly buzzy Brit, Markle maintained her personal status as an independent #bossbabe.
“We’re two people who are really happy and in love. We were very quietly dating for about six months before it became news, and I was working during that whole time, and the only thing that changed was people’s perception," Markle said to Vanity Fair. "Nothing about me changed. I’m still the same person that I am.”
3. When Markle got real about the intrinsic value of their relationship
In the same Vanity Fair interview, Markle said the relationship was for her and her beau to share. “We’re in love. I’m sure there will be a time when we will have to come forward and present ourselves and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our time. This is for us. It’s part of what makes it so special, that it’s just ours.”
And here are the times when Kate Middleton was both hair and athleisure #goals.
