Consumer Data Company Predicts Nootropics, CBD, and Adaptogens to Get Buzzier This Year
Supplements and ingredients that aim to enhance a person's mental well-being include things like adaptogens, cannabidiol (CBD), and nootropics. In a nutshell, adaptogens are types of herbs and mushrooms that offer an array of health benefits, namely stress reduction. CBD, or cannabinoid, a compound found in marijuana, purportedly offers the health benefits of weed, like pain and anxiety reduction, but without getting you high. Nootropics—arguably the buzziest of the bunch—are a new type of supplement, which emerged from Silicon Valley, and they aim to combat brain fog and stress.
People are discovering supplements via packaged food and beverages and once they develop a familiarity with and affinity for the supplement, they'll begin to actively seek higher concentrations of the ingredient on its own, Brent Coons, a director at consumer-data company Spins, predicted in a webinar.
