The 3-Step Routine Priyanka Chopra Swears By for Styling Her Frizz-Free Waves
With spring weather comes humidity, and while we love all of the hydrating benefits of having extra moisture in the air, it can also lead to uncontrollable frizz. Womp.
Actress Priyanka Chopra knows this struggle well (which, same). Thankfully for the rest of us, she's crafted a three-step frizz-fighting routine that she swears by for keeping her strands sleek. The actor shared the details with a group of editors during a recent press event, and now, we're passing them along to you.
One thing worth noting? Though Chopra exclusively uses products from her drugstore haircare line, Anomaly, you can recreate the routine with pretty much any oil/conditioner/leave-in combo you've already got in your arsenal.
Below, her tried-and-tested method for creating the perfect "wavy, not frizzy" texture—which you can try for yourself for under $35.
1. Prep Your Hair With Scalp Oil
Before washing your hair, Chopra recommends using a scalp oil to treat your scalp. Her go-to is the Anamoly Hair and Scalp Oil, which features almond oil (read: nourishes hair strands) and rosehip oil (read: locks in moisture). These lightweight oils work together to soothe any scalp irritation and make hair feel extra smooth. Priyanka recommends massaging the oil into your scalp before taking a shower.
2. Wash hair with a hydrating and smoothing conditioner
According to Chopra, it's all about the products you're washing your hair with. By using a shampoo that focuses on hydration and a conditioner that smoothes strands, you'll end up with extra hydrated hair that can combat frizz on its own. Look for ingredients like argan oil, aloe vera, and coconut oil to give your hair extra nourishment.
3. Lock in moisture with a leave-in conditioner
After you shower, apply an extra hydrating leave-in conditioner to lock in moisture and keep hair strands shiny. Chopra lets her hair air dry with the leave-in conditioner from Anaomly Haircare, which has castor oil to promote hair growth and repair breakage, and avocado oil for extra nourishment. To style her hair, Chopra says she "manipulates it with a diffuser to give it a little bit of a curl then uses a hair oil to give the ends a little bit of definition and lose the frizz." The result? A perfectly-smooth blowout that will stay that way all day.
