These Super Soft Sleep Shorts Are the Only PJs That Can Keep Me Cool at Night
If I had things my way, the bedroom would get turned down to 50 degrees Fahrenheit at night, because I can only get a good night's sleep when the air around me is frigid and I'm cocooned in soft, warm sheets. But since I can't always get always get what I want (#relationships, and also...the electricity bill), the next best solution is to wear thin, loose PJs that keep me as cool as possible. I've gone through a lot of PJ shorts in my time, and I still end up waking up in the middle of the night feeling overheated.
Up until recently, that is. Since the hottest West Coast days are upon us (August and September are the most furnace-like in Los Angeles, at least), I tried out a new pair of shorts that looked airy and light. Richer Poorer's Night Knit sleep shorts are extremely soft, thin, and legitimately feel like you're not wearing anything. And while the material is featherlight, it's not fragile. I've thrown these shorts in the wash several times and they come out looking as sturdy as the day I got them in the mail.

Made of a rayon-spandex blend, these shorts are stretchy and luxuriously supple. You can wear them to bed or around the house (I do both, since they're super comfortable, and nobody at work sees me from the waist down anyway). They feature built-in brief underwear, so you don't have to worry about that extra layer. And more importantly, the material is breathable enough to chill you out at night, even if you run hot.
One reviewer writes, "I have purchased almost everything in this print and these do not disappoint. The perfect amount of soft and substantial." Another left a review that simply states, "Super lounge wear and cute! Appreciate the built in layer." Yep, these are good (and smart) shorts that'll end up being your secret weapon if you prefer to keep cool while you sleep.
If you've never tried out Richer Poorer apparel before, you're in for a treat. The brand's POV is that if they only offer high-quality and well-designed basics that last, this means their customers get far more wear out of them (and thus there is less negative impact on the planet, and less waste). They also only work with ethical factories and partner with 1% for the Planet, an organization that works with brands to give 1 percent of sales back to the environment.

So, going back to my original point: You can't always get what you want (in my case: the perfect sleep environment). But if you try sometimes, you find you get what you need (these shorts).
