Saks’ New Pop-up Is so Homey, You’re Going to Want to Move Right In
The interiors company Homepolish has taken over part of Saks Fifth Avenue's NYC flagship's first floor, and done a little redecorating. The space is made to feel like the ideal New York City apartment (think: the most massive studio you've ever seen) with each room flowing seamlessly into the next. There's a kitchen complete with a stunning bar that will make you want to pour yourself a kombucha cocktail right then and there, a living room with velvet chairs so plush it's hard not to feel a sensorial connection to them (i.e. cancel the rest of your day and curl up), and enough artwork and leafy greens that you'll be utterly inspired to start from scratch. The idea is to inspire visitors to embark on a "well-designed life," and it totally delivers on inspo.
While it would be enough just to sit and hang out on the gorgeous furniture and watch people shop all day long, the pop up is also offering events throughout the week. Today, they're bringing together a "Women in Design" panel featuring amazing female designers including Christiane Lemieux, founder of The Inside and Dwell Studio; Elizabeth Rees, founder of Chasing Paper; Tze Chun, the founder of Uprise Art; and Homepolish interior designer Emma Lesser.
And tomorrow, June 6, their "Well Designed Life" panel will be moderated by Stephanie Mark, co-founder of The Coveteur, and include Athena Calderone, creator of EyeSwoon and author of Cook Beautiful; Nell Diamond, founder of Hill House Home; and Rebecca Atwood, founder and creative director of Rebecca Atwood. Fair warning—once you get there, you may not want to leave. (Or at least, when you do, you'll be ready to fully redecorate your home).
