Thinx used the same four-layer technology in their period underwear and period-proof workout shorts to make their blankets, which are officially on sale tomorrow for $369. (Yes, it's pricey, but maybe you'll save money on towels?) "This means you can stop worrying about your sheets when you want to have sex during your period," CEO Maria Molland Selby says. You literally just lay the blanket on top of your bed (or floor, couch, or wherever else you want to get down) and that's it.
"This is more than just a blanket. This is another opportunity to bust through yet another period taboo and to open up a much needed dialogue about period sex and sex generally." — Thinx CEO Maria Molland Selby
But Thinx's mission goes beyond just clean sheets. "We hope that the introduction of our sex blanket drives a new kind of conversation around period sex, one that encourages people not to feel shame or shy away from the human body during their period," Selby says. "This is more than just a blanket. This is another opportunity to bust through yet another period taboo and to open up a much needed dialogue about period sex and sex generally."
The brand is also launching a pop-up store—appropriately called Come As You Are—for those in New York City, from June 21–23 at 158 Mercer St. in Soho. "It will be a sensory adventure inviting people to go deeper on the topics of period sex and women's empowerment," Selby says. "We'll have visual art displays and a hilarious, awkward, inspiring panel talk on what it's like to have sex on your cycle. And of course the blanket will be there for people to feel." Talk about next-level menstrual realness.
Cuddle up with your period blanket and these PMS-fighting brownies. And this yoga flow will help with period cramps.
