Solid & Striped Teamed Up With Sporty & Rich, and You’ll Love Its ’80s-Inspired Swimsuits
Solid & Striped and Sporty & Rich (say that three times fast) recently joined forces to launch a capsule collection that looks like it’s straight out of Fast Times at Ridgemont High. Founded in 2012, Solid & Striped’s swimsuits are known for their simple cuts and vivid prints, while Sporty & Rich’s clothing scream athletic club with a mix of minimalism and sustainability. Together? A limited-edition swimwear line designed to channel your inner ‘80s prep.
The capsule collection is only four pieces, sticking with Sporty & Rich’s ethos. With just two bikinis and two one-pieces, they're already selling out online (so get to shopping!)
The Jayden Bikini ($88) features a sporty, racerback bikini top and a high-cut, full coverage bikini bottom, so it can actually be worn to the same athletic club pools it’s inspired by. If a one-piece is more your speed, The Gemma ($176) has a retro-silhouette, complete with spaghetti straps and that same classic high-cut bottom. Think: New York Health & Racquet meets Baywatch.
Both brands have had exciting years. Solid & Striped announced a partnership with long-time W+G fitness fave Bandier in March 2021, expanding past bikinis and board shorts and into high-performance technical apparel. Sporty & Rich has grown up, too. The lifestyle brand started as a mood board, which then turned into a magazine, and is now a full-blown DTC collection of "simple, yet thoughtfully designed products that represent longevity over momentary relevance," according to their website. Simply put, their pieces are all about timelessness over trend.

This isn't Sporty & Rich's collaboration. Most recently, they partnered with Clarks Originals on a line of eco-friendly, sustainably sourced, and super cute Wallabees. Their new swim line comes just in time for summer. "I’m most excited about this collaboration because I’ve been a longtime fan of Solid & Striped and I love working with brands and people that we admire," Founder Emily Oberg recently told Women's Wear Daily. “Doing swim was a natural progression for us because I live in swimwear. I swim at least three to four times a week and I love being in the water, there is something so therapeutic and calming that it’s addicting for me.”
If you're looking to freshen up your swim fashion, this capsule collection is worth a look. The designs are all trendy but very practical, making them perfect for both cocktails at the swim-up bar and laps in the pool. But don't wait too long—as we mentioned before, these suits are selling out fast. Shop the full collection for look that's totally tubular.
