New Decade, New Spirit Animal: Here’s the Transformative Totem of the Moment

As we head into the home stretch of 2019, there's a spirit animal with an alchemical bent to help us kick off the 2020s. According to "RockStar Shaman" Alyson Charles, this month is all about the Ouroboros, a master of destruction and creation. So get ready for some serious introspection—and seriously exciting new beginnings.

Here we are, the very last forecast for this decade! In November, we continued deep-diving within and bearing witness to old ways and habits (that it's time to shed). The universe gave us somewhat of a breakthough, as you most likely also began to see into the other side—where long-awaited creative ventures are now crystallizing, and ways of living that your soul wants for you began to manifest. Keep riding with and trusting these currents!

Trust and flow are a huge part of the December forecast. The more we free up energetic space to let the river of universe take us where it wants, the more we can expand into excitement and miraculous experiences we never knew possible.

This month is a time to ask yourself what that divine feminine energy feels like to you. Get to know her more. Look at her and talk with her. Be less structured and rigid, and open up space so that life can show you what exists beyond your plans, beyond what you think is grand, beyond constriction lines into the infinite space of all possibilities! This space can feel so vast that we may want to run and hide from it, but the energies of now urge us to be much more trusting of this infinite space, and void, than ever before.

It is also a time to be reminded to really trust your intuition and to go within yourself first, when seeking guidance—even in relation to these energy forecasts. I love writing them and accessing great spirit, great Gaia, and the divine truth within me to provide them, but I want you to remember to see what your soul says about things before going to any external source.

This entire past year was one of constant up-leveling: energetic upgrades, shedding to rise higher, and seeing and feeling to transcend and enlighten. You’ve put in the work if you walk this path. There is so much illuminated inside of you now, and it is ready to inform you in much greater degrees.

And as we are about to wrap an entire decade, rather than suggest setting intentions, what came in for me was quite the opposite: a need to reflect on death and the impermanence of life (and impermanence of everything, really). With all the experiences that Earth life brings us, it is such an astounding gift to be here.

The more we look at our very temporary existence, the clearer and more focused and centered in love and gratitude we can be. Sit in meditation and face your mortality. Ask yourself: If I were to go right now, did I say and do all I came here to say and do? Did I positively shift the energetic frequency of this incredible planet? Did I anchor more love into it? If I left this earthly existence today, what legacy, energetic imprint, or teachings am I leaving behind?

And when spending time with someone else, be more present and with them than ever before. Wow, what a time to be incarnated on Earth! We are really doing it, really living. Remember that if you want something different, it is up to you to create the change in your life. Keep feeling, keep growing, keep choosing to be more loving. We can always be more loving. Never regret it.
