Adaptogenic Kombucha Is Coming Out This Fall to Take Your Obsession to the Next Level
Kombucha is already a staple in the wellness world thanks to its good-for-the-gut probiotics, but Suja Juice is seriously upping the ante with its newest release: Next month, the healthy beverage brand is coming out with an adaptogenic kombucha, available at Target for $3.49.
Never heard of adaptogens? When taken over time, the herbs have been known to protect the body from stress—yes, for real. Dr. Frank Lipman, MD, has even gone so far as to call them "nature's miracle anti-stress and fatigue fighters." (Anyone else ready to fill their glass to the top?)
"We may not be the first company to come to market with a kombucha, but we knew that we could do it in a way that was more transparent, functional, and affordable than current options."
"We may not be the first company to come to market with a kombucha, but we knew that we could do it in a way that was more transparent, functional, and affordable than current options," says Suja Juice CEO and co-founder Jeff Church. "As another way to differentiate, we'd been studying and looking at adaptogens for years and felt that the time was right to add them to our beverages." The brand worked with Culinary Institute of America-trained chef, Bryan Riblett to get the taste exactly right, blending the highly functional herbs, cold-pressed juice, and probiotics together.
Suja's new offerings are made with ashwagandha, shizandra, moringa, and reishi—all organic and non-GMO. "We identified the most common feelings and physical conditions that afflict people on a day-to-day basis, such as stress, inflammation, lack of sleep, and poor immune system health, and used that to guide our adaptogen choices," Church says. "The great thing about adaptogens is that they’re multi-purpose and adapt to your specific needs to help restore balance in the body."

And if you've shied away from kombucha in the past because of the alcohol content (though low, it's present in most), you can sip knowing the brand went the extra step to get their latest product verified non-alcoholic. Looks like the PSL has some competition when it comes to fall's buzziest drink.
This kombucha-float is another creative way to get your fix. Or, try one of these inflammation-flighting drinks.
