All-Female Coworking Is the Trend That Just Keeps Growing
The Wing—which is based in New York City—only launched a year ago, but a lot has happened during the past 365 days: There are now locations—AKA "covens"—in Flatiron and SoHo with two more opening this winter in DC and Brooklyn. And now it's just been announced that WeWork is investing millions in "girls doing whatever the f*ck they want," to quote one of the future-is-female brand's rallying cries. As in, the coworking OG is leading a round of funding for the year-old startup that totals $32 million.
"Our mission has always been to create a space for women to advance their pursuits and build community together, and expanding our physical footprint with WeWork's expertise will be the key to achieving those goals for us," says CEO and co-founder Audrey Gelman.
So what does this mean for you? Well, you'll no longer have to be on the East Coast to join the community: Because of the investment, The Wing will be opening new locations all across the country (first up: Los Angeles and San Francisco)—and maybe even outside of the United States.

"Ultimately, we want to expand our diverse, talented, and passionate community of Wing women, globally. We've gotten a lot of outreach from women in London, Paris, and even smaller countries like Latvia," Gelman says. Plus, they'll also use some funds to launch a scholarship program next year so even more women can use their work spaces.
So get ready for millennial pink and marble overload, in The Wing's signature style—it's coming for you.
