Clean beauty advocate and Aussie supermodel Miranda Kerr is a bona fide woo-woo wellness aficionado. She loves crystals (she keeps a rose quartz under her pillow), healing essential oils, and she's a major fan of meditating—even with her kids. Here, the Well+Good Council member shares how she practices mindfulness with her *entire* family.
I believe that children learn the most from your actions. You can talk to them and tell them something's important, but when my son Flynn actually sees me doing something, that's when he'll come and join me. So when he sees me meditating, he'll come sit by me, just feeling the energy. He won't stay for the whole 10 or 20 minutes, but he'll join me for a bit.
Every night before Flynn goes to bed, we'll do a guided meditation that will put him to sleep.
Every night before Flynn goes to bed, we'll also do a guided meditation that will put him to sleep. I have a few on my phone and he'll pick the one he wants. He'll just be like, "I want this one!"
If he doesn't want to do the meditation, I'll tell Flynn a soothing story. I make them up: It might be about a butterfly and a ladybug that go on these adventures, like swim through crystal clear waters that remove any worries and makes them feel joyful and relaxed. It's almost like a story and a meditation at the same time and he really loves it; he falls asleep in no time.
When you take care of yourself—body and mind—you'll be able to give so much more.
As a family, we also do things that aren't exactly meditation but are mindful. I encourage Flynn to have creative time to express himself, during which he does things like draw and paint. He also loves to be outside. We'll go out into the garden together and go for walks. He climbs trees—when I was a little girl, I did the same. I'm always encouraging him to be out in nature as much as possible. We'll sit outside and have a little picnic. Sometimes, we'll take our shoes off and put our feet in the grass—it's really grounding.

I just feel that, at the end of the day, health is wealth. When you take care of yourself—body and mind—you'll be able to give so much more. I've learned this along the way, but I want my kids to know it from the start.
