How this food blogger boosts her confidence through fitness (and her activewear collection)

Locker Room Look Book is Well+Good’s new video series where we share (and you’ll score) post-workout beauty and style tips from white-hot wellness stars.

Showing up for your workout every day requires serious determination. One instant way to give yourself a motivation boost, though? Upgrading your activewear collection.

Just ask Monique Volz (founder of Ambitious Kitchen and Under Armour brand ambassador), who’s made it her mission to inspire women to fuel their confidence through healthy eating and heart-pumping workouts. For Volz, that all starts when she suits up for a sweat sesh.

“That attitude starts when I put on my leggings.”

“Having the workout as the base of my day allows the energy to flow through me, it gives me positivity, and I feel like I can really take on anything,” Volz says. “And sometimes that attitude starts when I put on my leggings.”

As someone who’s overcome a difficult relationship with her body, Volz believes in the power of fitness—and wearing pieces that fuel her swagger in the gym. “For me I think it’s most important to feel comfortable, but also to have clothes make you feel confident,” she explains.

In that spirit, Volz keeps her bag packed with Under Armour essentials in the softest fabrics, like sports bras that support but don’t pinch, plush hoodies, and buttery leggings. She puts them all together for a look that is uniquely her, with a reminder that no matter what outfit you’re wearing, “Your individualism is what matters.”

Watch the video above for more of her confidence-boosting tips—and shop her look below.
