Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change might not feel like the most pressing issue of the day, week, or month, but the environment still directly affects our mental health, physical vitality, and overall well-being. And, as with the coronavirus, mitigating the negative effects of climate change will require a collective effort in order to prevent a terrifying worst-case scenario from unfolding.
So this April, Well+Good is observing Earth Month by taking a look at how climate change is forever altering the world in which we live—and how the choices we make can impact our collective future, and the future of the planet.
And while we'll be rolling out new stories all month long focused on environmental issues and green initiatives, climate coverage has always been part of our DNA. Here are some standout examples:
- In December 2019, we named the next generation of climate activists among Well+Good's 2020 Changemakers, and wrote about how their passion might be just the spark that's needed to reignite the movement.
- Last fall, we unpacked the complicated question of GMOs, and whether the controversial crops may be a secret weapon in the fight against climate change.
- We spoke with a climate psychologist (yep, a real job) about the scary reality of climate anxiety—and its surprising silver lining.
- We've dug into your burning questions about the most sustainable eating plans, alt-milks, fashion choices, bathroom habits, drinking habits—the list goes on.
We hope you'll join us this Earth Month for a more in-depth look at living sustainably—even in these unprecedented times.
