Your December energy horoscope: ‘Tis the season to burst into song—and try a life detox

After all, it’s not just the stars and planets that can give you a heads-up on what’s about to happen. Keep reading for her cosmic divination for December: what she sees coming and the spirit animal she says you’ll want to call forth as a guide to help you on your path to self-actualization. 

Wow, last month took us for a personally enriching, deeply passionate (and hopefully romantic) ride, right? So many layers, so many multidimensional and multifaceted aspects were woven into November, it was like a wild and powerful prism whose medicine will continue to work within us and our lives this month as well. So much was activated, explored, and opened up that we will now focus on creating a sacred container for all of those blessings to keep expanding and bringing the rich abundance to our heart and our earthly experiences.

December is a delicious month, but I will warn you—it can be tricky! You will not be in your usual schedule, patterns, or habituated ways for much of it, so in order to truly be present with December’s beauty you must make doing practices that keep you centered and in your power a priority.

I recommend that you focus on these conscious lifestyle rituals this month:

• Being in your body. The more you connect to your physical vessel the more you will tap into your grounded power, which will keep you calm and centered, no matter what unexpectedness arises. Dance more. Stomp your feet more to an ancient beat. (I highly recommend playing music from other cultures that speak to your soul and evoke ancient wisdom—you can check out my Spotify for plenty of options.)

• Sing! Dive into chanting mantras, belt out songs from the ’80s or ’90s, sing holiday music with your family and friends, or simply allow natural sounds and words to channel through you and let whatever song that wants to come out, come out. Explore ways to allow your voice—your very own, one-of-a-kind personal sound essence—to radiate from your body and energetically fill the hearts of others and a room. It is powerful medicine.

• Surrender and ask the universe to send you whatever practitioner or person who will assist in the next stage of your evolution. Ask that this person, method, or practice be sent to you for your “highest, greatest, earthly good,” and keep an eye out for what wants to enter in.December is also a month for deeper, cellular purging, with old, embedded energetic fragments and memories making their way to the surface.

Life “cleanse” ahead

This process is not to be feared—it’s a time that can detoxify you on your deepest levels, which in turn will give the new alchemy that’s been building room to shine and truly take hold. If you notice yourself thinking of people you thought you’d long since forgotten or feeling waves of emotions you haven’t felt in years—or your dreams taking you places you’ve never been—please trust in the process and let yourself feel.

But also tend to this ancient process by doing loving things for yourself: Take healing baths, get a massage, take a spa day, drink tea, and be with loving people who can hold space for you while you grow.

You may notice yourself thinking of people you thought you’d long since forgotten or feeling waves of emotions you haven’t felt in years.

Much of what’s been occurring the past months has been building a sacred container around us and within us for us to live with greater abundance. And the tip I mentioned earlier, about getting into your body, is hugely important for abundance of any kind—ranging from finances, joy, health, love, and more—to be able to manifest. December brings the opportunity for next steps that reveal how your life can up-level in some massive ways. And doing new, conscious practices for your physical vessel will allow the abundance to drop in and be held, healthfully and sustainably.

December’s spirit animal: the butterfly

Call upon the butterfly to assist you with emerging into your new phase of life—it’ll help you to not take these great changes too seriously and will teach you that growth and transformation does not have to be traumatic. It can be joyous, and there is power in trust and vulnerability. The butterfly also symbolizes movement and is revered by the Navajo and Hopi tribes who have ceremonial dances in honor of this animal totem. Our ability to evolve is infinite, and the butterfly brings its beauty and grace to open our creative center and to continue opening our hearts.

It will teach you that growth and transformation does not have to be traumatic. It can be joyous, and there is power in trust and vulnerability.

December is a magnetic month where remaining “awake”—being compassionate and filled with truth—is absolutely key! You can even set a daily intention each morning to focus on this waking. Think about what you’d like to draw into your experience and imagine being that essence to become that energy over the next month.

Enjoy connecting with yourself, your family and friends during this month that will be filled with holidays, celebrations, and special engagements, but remember you will be in a position to best enjoy and savor each precious moment if you tend to your personal power rituals every day—make that a priority and you can be witness to miracles that take you to portals of living that you have never accessed before.
