Even if you have your CoStar notifications turned on, it can sometimes feel like the cosmos is just throwing us curve balls left and right—and it’s hard to keep track of the transits that really matter. The good news is, astrology is nothing if not predictable: It’s all based on how the planets move through the sky, which happens in patterns. Meaning, astrologers can chart the cosmic forecast for the *whole* year ahead and pinpoint the major astrology events heading our way.

And lucky for you, we’ve rounded up three astrologers to make their case about the major astrology events of 2024, so you can be prepared, and know how to deal when the universe inevitably serves up a few plot twists.
And spoiler alert: There will be plenty of those plot twists this year. Astrologer Lauren Ash says that 2024 boils down to one thing: karma. That’s because 2024 is an “8 year” in numerological terms—a number that’s associated astrologically with Saturn, AKA the planet of time and discipline. “This means that everything you have been working toward will start to come to fruition, and this theme will be most pronounced during the Pluto transits for this year,” Ash explains.
Below, astrologers break down the four major astrology events of the year (in order of when they will happen), so you can be prepared for their real-world effects.
1. Pluto re-enters Aquarius
Date: January 20, 2024
Pluto, the planet of power and transformation, moved into Aquarius last March for the first time in more than 200 years (!) but its four-month retrograde took it back into Capricorn for the back half of 2023. On January 20, it re-enters Aquarius, just as the sun also moves into the forward-thinking air sign.
This transit heralds powerful change, reminding us that there’s no going back to any previous normal, according to Ash. “During this transit, power and control will be significant themes, and you may find yourself rebelling against existing systems and structures,” she says. Because Pluto is an outer, or generational planet, its movements impact us on a collective (rather than individual) level. Meaning, Pluto’s move into change-maker Aquarius could bring a major moment in pop culture and a shift in the status quo, shaking up our cultural values and leading to a societal reckoning for those in power.
Plus, this is the last year we’ll ever see Pluto in Capricorn in our lifetime (since Pluto takes roughly 248 years to complete its solar orbit), making this an especially unique cosmic moment. “We are moving away from the old-fashioned individualistic mindset and toward a more connected approach,” says Ash.
2. The north node aligns with Chiron in Aries
Date: February 19, 2024

The invisible point in the sky where the moon’s orbit intersects with the Earth’s in the northern hemisphere is called the north node, and on February 19, it shifts into alignment with the asteroid Chiron. In our birth chart, Chiron is the placement responsible for the wounds we’re destined to bear, “while the lunar north node is where the energy is directed here on Earth,” Montúfar says. The powerful conjunction between the two marks a significant shift in our collective healing.
“It can feel like embarking on a heroic journey, but the journey is inward rather than external,” says astrologer Ryan Marquardt. “You might feel compelled to be more courageous and self-aware in the face of a challenge.”
Because this conjunction between the north node and Chiron occurs in the fire sign of Aries, which is connected to action and conflict, we’re all in for a bit of an aggressive spiritual revolution. “While this conjunction could spark a movement in, say, the healthcare industry, it’s more likely going to show where healing is needed in a more spiritual sense,” Marquardt explains. That can look like radical self care or a resurgence of “quiet quitting,” for example.
To set yourself up for success in 2024, Montúfar suggests using the time around this February conjunction to lay your traumas and insecurities on the table. “The more we do the work now, the more liberated we will feel during the rest of the year,” she says.
“Since 2018, Uranus has been revolutionizing the way we approach self care and our mind-body connection, as well as our finances,” says astrologer Narayana Montúfar, author of Moon Signs: Unlock Your Inner Luminary Power. (2018 is the year when Uranus moved into the grounded Earth sign of Taurus.) This spring, the conjunction between Uranus and Jupiter just means that “Jupiter will magnify these changes even more, which could generate big breakthroughs concerning these areas of life.”
Aside from Jupiter’s optimistic presence, though, the erratic energy of Uranus—the planet associated with rebellion—could also make itself known, says Montúfar. Since Uranus deals heavily with our mind and unpredictability, this transit is ultimately a chance for us to re-evaluate our habits and kick the ones that no longer serve our health and financial goals.
4. Jupiter enters Gemini
Date: May 25, 2024

After spending the first part of 2024 wrapping up its transit in Taurus, lucky Jupiter moves into Gemini on May 25, where it’ll stay until June 9, 2025. (Having Jupiter in your sign is known to bring good fortune, which is why the twin sign is expected to be especially lucky in 2024.)
One of the three charming air signs, Gemini is known for creating witty schemes and having tricks up their sleeves, all of which is supercharged by Jupiter’s expansive energy. As a result, this transit is the perfect time to conjure up your most whimsical ideas.
