Every month, Alyson Charles (AKA RockStar Shaman) offers up an energetic forecast, which can serve as a metaphysical roadmap for the coming weeks. After all, it’s not just the stars and planets that can give you a heads-up on what’s about to happen. Keep reading for her cosmic divination for February: what she sees coming and the spirit animal she says you’ll want to call forth as a guide to help you on your path to self-actualization. 

Last month we welcomed the snake animal totem to begin assisting us in shedding our old skin and releasing outmoded patterns, old limiting beliefs, and ways of living that no longer serve us.

The healing properties and medicine of the snake will be with us for the majority of 2018, so as this process of letting go unfolds, what comes along with it is an extremely powerful phenomenon of new space opening up inside of us.

Within this new space, we can begin to build new ways of living that let us transcend out of past behaviors that kept us playing small—and into entirely new expressions of who we truly are.

It is potent and needed medicine because as we keep giving ourselves permission to grow and find our footing with these new ways, I believe we also assist Gaia (planet Earth) with her shift into greater compassion, oneness, and light as well.

There are a few key aspects to really pay attention to this month, so you can keep in highest vibrational alignment and continue to allow these shifts and changes to occur with as much grace, ease and enjoyment as possible.

Here’s what you need to know to stay energetically aligned throughout February.

This month’s to-do list

1) Did you do the journal exercise listed in last month’s forecast? If not, I highly recommend you dive into this brief and powerful practice now. If you have done it, great! We will now build upon it. I want you to get your journal out and take a look at the answers you wrote down and begin to note where you have already seen transformation occurring and how you’ve experienced growth.

And the areas where you notice there is still stagnation or lack of clarity or resistance to change—I want you to communicate to source (universe, God, consciousness—whomever you speak to)—that you surrender these aspects to it now and command that you be shown the way for your highest, greatest, earthly good. Once this process is complete, it is your work to remain awake and aware in the coming days, allowing yourself to see how universe is communicating to you. You might hear of a certain practitioner three days in a row, someone may give you a book etc…be awake to the guidance being shown to you that will lead you in transforming those aspects that are still a bit stuck.

2) Continue with deep trust. If you are doing the work, surrendering, feeling the growing pains—you are on the right track. When you evolve, you feel it in some way! This is when we must continue walking forth knowing we are divinely guided and riding the (sometimes turbulent) seas of change. Remember this mantra and repeat as often as necessary, “change over pattern, change over pattern.”

3) If you are wishing or wondering when doing all this “work” might stop or go away, remember that expanding in the knowingness of yourself and ascending in consciousness is a never-ending process. It’s more about accepting that we came here to learn, see, feel, touch, smell, and grow, and that this process of awakened living is what we were most excited about when wanting to incarnate here.

Lessons from the red-tailed hawk

Like the previous few months, the animal totems for February physically presented themselves to me in wildly potent and majestic ways to make themselves known. The primary medicine for this month hails from the visionary of the sky, the red-tailed hawk (and some coyote, too). One key aspect the hawk communicated pertains to maturing. If you haven’t already, you will most likely begin to notice ways in which you are really handling certain conversations, relationships, etc., with a much greater degree of maturation. Do you feel yourself beginning to really come into your own? A feeling of, “Wow, I’m actually really proud of myself/impressed with myself for handling that situation that way!” This is your power and energy growing. The other key medicine that the red-tailed hawk brings is delivering higher consciousness energies and visions to you and aligning you more with the intentions of your soul and your life purpose.

If you haven’t already, you will most likely begin to notice ways in which you are really handling certain conversations, relationships, etc., with a much greater degree of maturation.

Many of you are stepping into your power and light like never before and being activated or initiated on a spiritual level. Our dear hawk will be with you during this time. Ask the hawk to work with you this month and then pair its medicine with practices that keep the vibrations and new energies harmonizing and circulating in your body. Try practices like using tuning forks, chanting or singing (or humming along with) sacred songs and mantras—and ingest high-vibration foods and beverages (colorful, organic, unprocessed) as much as possible. And of course: Drink lots of water.

Finally, allow yourself to immerse more in earthly delights! Let yourself be in awe of nature more this month: See the rainbows, really feel the texture of the food you eat (eating mushrooms came in clear for this month), feel the water on your skin when you bathe and begin each morning with some sort of aromatherapy (even if it’s a quick whiff of a chakra oil you’ve placed on your wrist). And romance yourself and your physical body in a new way! Be the love to yourself that you wish to receive from others. Connect with high-vibe friends, the sun, and the color yellow. All of this will keep the activation and movement of the energies of the intentions you set for this year alive and really flowing forth.

February urges you to keep being one with great change and to remember to see the humor in what you’re going through as much as possible. Being more playful with yourself and the energies within your body will help take you to new heights this month!
