The iconic makeup brand NARS has been around since before modern beauty mogul Kylie Jenner was even a twinkle in her parents’ eyes. It was founded in 1994 by the French makeup artist and photographer Francois Nars, which makes it more or less an OG in the space at this point. But that doesn’t mean it’s now obsolete; on the contrary, NARS is as beloved as ever by makeup junkies. “What I love about NARS is their ability to create so many products that have remained staples in my pro kit and personal kit for several years,” says MUA Tanya Deemer.

The brand was ahead of its time in one important way, too. It offered a significant range of skin tone shades before most other brands followed suit (and long before Rihanna was the Rihanna capable of transforming the industry with the launch of ultra-inclusive Fenty Beauty). “Its wide range of products and shades make it one of my absolute favorite brands,” agrees celebrity MUA Cara Lovello.

“I use this before foundation to spot correct any blemishes or imperfections,” says Lovello. “This potted concealer offers a little more coverage and stays put!” She specifically loves the shade “ginger” for extra coverage under the eye. “The orange tones help balance out any blue tones that may be under the eye,” she explains.

2. NARS Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation — $49.00

This is a great foundation universal for all skin types, says Lovello. “I especially love it for mature skin because of the buildable coverage it offers, without looking cakey,” she says.

3. NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer — $31.00

Lovello uses this product after she applies foundation to brighten and highlight the under-eye area and different parts of the face. “I love this concealer for its lightweight formula,” she says. “It’s even great for mature skin—I’ve never found it to crease!”

And Deemer agrees on all counts, noting that it’s pigmented, creamy, smooth in application, and resilient to wear (meaning it stays put). “It corrects and covers all at once,” she says.

“This is one of my favorite bronzers ever,” says Lovello. “It’s the perfect shade on so many skin tones; it’s not too warm, so you can use it to contour, and it’s not too cool, so you can most definitely use it generously around the face for a great sun-kissed bronze.”

“This product is very versatile and can be used all over the face—eyes, cheeks, lips, etc.,” says Deemer. And, she notes, it’s available in the brand’s iconic Orgasm shade.

This primer is great on many skin types, says Lovello, but she especialyly likes to use it on clients with mature skin, or anyone on the drier side. “It’s quick to absorb and works under every foundation I’ve tried it with,” she says. As an added bonus, it also offers an SPF of 35.

“Smudgeable, yet long-lasting and water resistant, [this eyeliner] is so easy to apply since it glides on so smoothly—even on mature lids,” says Deemer.
