We’ve Been Waiting 30 Years, But This Cult-Fave Brand Just Launched Its Second Product

There are certain, under-$20 products that have solidified their status as cult-fave drugstore staples, like Differin Gel, Cetaphil Cleanser, Neutrogena Hydroboost—the list goes on. Another one that dermatologists and beauty editors alike can’t get enough of? Bio Oil, which is lauded as a do-everything $9  elixir. For the first time in 30 years, Bio Oil formulators have taken their know-how and applied it to an entirely new treatment, giving us the Bio Oil Dry Skin Gel ($11).

Just like its OG predecessor, the Dry Skin Gel is packed with the nourishing oil blend that you know and love (featuring vitamins A, E, calendula, and chamomile), but comes in a gel-like texture that even the biggest oil-haters can get behind. Because this is in gel form and is packed with humectants, the Dry Skin Gel makes it easy for your pores to slurp right up. “This product is more water-based than the original oil,” says board-certified dermatologist Rachel Nazarian, MD, who adds that it absorbs quickly. For anyone who’s traditionally shied away from Bio Oil because of its potentially pore-clogging properties, this stuff offers the same benefits without any of the risks.  “The gel version is non-comedogenic, less likely to block glands, and more lightweight for hotter, more humid weather,” says Dr. Nazarian.

Because of this, it’s the perfect product to slather all over your body—from your face all the way down to your feet—to fend off dry skin. In fact, it was made specifically with extra-dry skin in mind, which means that it’s a great pick for transitioning skin from the humid summer air into the colder temps of fall.
