Dealing with acne-prone skin can be tough: You always have to be careful about what products you use so you don’t trigger yet another breakout. But when I was introduced to the Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Complexion Correcting Serum, the promise of faded dark spots and fresher, clearer skin was more than enough of a reason for me to risk it all (and by risk it all I mean more breakouts, of course).
Caudalie is one of the most trusted and respected brands within the skin-care community, and this serum has been a fan-favorite for a long time. So, while I was putting a lot of faith in a new product, I felt like the odds were in my favor with this one. Although the brand did recently get a slight revamp in 2021, it continues to be a beauty staple among many. This serum in particular promises to give you a dewy-like glow, and even out your complexion (thanks to its formula, which includes a combination of olive squalane and a special blend of ingredients from the vine sap).

When I first tried the serum, I was pleasantly surprised by its milky-white consistency. It’s a little thicker than other serums, but it’s still able to penetrate deep into your pores to make for one powerhouse shot of hydration. It goes on smooth and leaves my skin feeling quenched, rather than oily.
Additionally (and most importantly), it didn’t cause my acne-prone skin to react or flare up, which is a major skin-care win for me. The added moisture has actually helped keep my breakouts to a minimum. It’s important for me to note that I’ve been using this in combination with other acne-fighting skin-care products (mainly salicylic acid treatments from Paula’s Choice). So, I can’t say this serum prevented or treated blemishes on its own, but it certainly didn’t cause any to form. A win is a win, though.
Not to mention, the bottle lasts a long time. In fact, you only need a few drops to adequately moisturize your face, which is a huge plus given the hefty price tag. Overall, I would say that during the four months I wore this serum (that is, before I ran out of my own bottle), my skin definitely saw an improvement in the brightness department. Keep in mind, it wasn’t an overnight miracle. However, within a week, my dry skin looked more rejuvenated and healthier (and that’s without the coffee).
At $79, it is a bit of investment, but if you’re looking for a luxurious and hydrating serum that won’t do more harm than good, and you’re open to trying a different approach to help fight dullness (and keep your skin as clear as possible while you’re at it), then this is definitely worth it.
